Abandoned mines by the road, 200-300m. Old buildings hide you from the road and give wind protection. You also can easily find some woods in the ruins. At least 2 very deep tunnels going inside the mountain. Bonus: car inspection pit.

Somewhat eerie site with roofless buildings and foundations of larger machines. A hill gave us shade (arrived two hours before sunset) and made us invisible from the road. No big trees for daytime shade. Good news: no garbage!
There are a few (dry) river beds to cross to get here - the last two could be too deep for a regular 2WD or RV. Our Land Cruiser had no problem.
Great quiet spot for one night.

Abandoned houses and rocks shelter from wind and views. Good for a night along the road.
