Description

Bay view/about 14 sites in 2 tiers on cliff (10m)--stairs to beach and children's play area--nice grass w/smooth boulder beach for picnics and white sand small cove w/ablutions and outside shower at end. Situated between road and bay, there's some traffic noise. ZAR202/site up to 2 vehicles & 6 p. Most sites are just big enough for 2 vehicles--lots of trees for shade--some just tall enough for vehicles w/pop-up tents. Non-cliff edge sites have nice grassy areas for tents. Friendly staff and highly secure--gate manned 24/7. Even in winter, busy on wkends. Managed by city of Cape Town--can't pay onsite. Essential to get an invoice from the caravan park in Fish Hoek during business hours and then pay invoice at the local Pick and Pay. And then ... give the receipt to guard at Millers Point for entry. We did not know this and wasted an hour driving back to Fish Hoek ... but eventually worth it. Grounds and ablutions (bathtub, too) and scullery kept very tidy and cleaned daily. Famous fish restaurant (Black Marlin) next to camp--moderate prices, decent food. Phone: 021 7825503, 021 7861142

Latest Check-Ins

I tried to book a site for 6 days. All weekends are apparently full (they only book 50% of campsites due to Covid????) and you cannot leave on the same day that another booking starts (apparently they have to clean the site so you must leave the day before 🙄)
In all my travels I have NEVER come across this phenomenon.
Good luck trying to book here. It has to be done in Muizenberg and the help is sparse.

Report Check-In

Unfriendly place. You can use the campground only on the basis of prior reservation. The security guard will not let you into the campground, although half of the places are unoccupied. It is not possible to pay for the stay at the campsite, Booking online only, although my attempt to book online remained unanswered ...

Report Check-In

we tried to enter the camping by visiting the caravan ground in Fish hoek, but because of Covid, they centralised all the payments of the campgrounds and so the payment of the campground of Miller Point is now at Muizenberg and closes at 3pm. So NO check in at Fish hoek anymore for Miller point. Such a hassle to keep driving back and forth to get a ticket for entering a camp ground.

Report Check-In

Nice place directly beside the sea. We were there when it was very windy. No shelter from the wind. There's facility to wash dishes but no kitchen. Clean abolutions. We paid 200R for 2p and one 4x4. You have to check in in Fish Hoek CaravanPark and pay there or ask them for an invoice prior to arrival. You can! 't get on to the camping without a booking confirmation.

Report Check-In

Campground Nr 5 is pretty slanted. If you go on weekends, there is a chance of a noisy night. Price was 202 Rand per site.

Report Check-In

Spectacular camping location if somewhat hard to check in. Persevere tough as the campground and nearby Black Marlin Restaurant is best if visiting the Cape.

Report Check-In

Do keep in mind that no matter which season, you need to buy you entrance ticket to the campground in the public library, before 16.30, because that’s when the lady handling this leaves. We had to drive back to the Fischhoek caravan park, because we arrived too late.

Report Check-In

Beautiful setting with fantastic views over false bay. Electricity on most sites with adequate ablution facilities. Most sites are shaded with green grass. Clean for the most part, but, lots of litter on seaward edge of campsite and way too many cigarette butts laying around.

Report Check-In

Small cosy campsite with beach on False Bay. Swimming, fishing, canooing. Nearby is a very good fishrestaurant.
