As much of the ATMs in Stone Town charge up to 17.000 tzs and have a limit of 400.000tzs, here the limit for foreign cards is 900.000tzs WITHOUT fees :-)
Be sure that you have many before leaving the town because there is no other atm in the island out of Stone Town.

I’ve successfully used Monzo, Revolut and (transfer)wise cards here.
Opening times are:
Mon-Fri — 8.30 till 17.00
Sat — 8.30 till 13.00
We managed to draw 200,000 without fees. Gave it to us in 5000 notes.
Report Check-InNo fees! But limit is indeed 400.000 (max number of notes). Maybe best to go in the morning, on Thursday afternoon the bank no longer had notes of 10.000, so limit was 200.000...
