Amazing spot right by the beach!
Very quiet at night, you’ll have the place to yourself. No amenities. Just peace and the breeze from the ocean !
Lovely, quiet spot. We arrived late and after an unsuccessful hour of looking for accommodation we decided to camp on the beach. There is low growth throughout most of its length that gives some shelter. We saw no one until fishing boats started appearing around 7am. A truly wonderful place to stay.
Report Check-InWe came, liked the spot & the general feel of the town, settled in. Around 20.00 the police checked on us, asked for papers. They were professional and friendly. Advised us to move for the night to an area with street lighting.
So, we did, more because bluntly ignoring good will advise could be interpreted as rude, rather than feeling actual need for it.
We moved just 250m and did stay overnight in front of Centre de Salud (in the outside parking area, not in the fenced parking lot). Had nice and interesting chat with night security about the center, how it is staffed on rotating bases with doctors, how more complex cases are handeled, and the area of Sisal in general.
* 2 bars on Telcel
* Signal from street WiFi
* Suitable for smaller vehicles only
* Street lights
* Quiet at night
We have stayed 2 nights.
We have stayed in the original iO spot (directly on the beach) during the day hours, returning to Centre de Salud for the night. Easy move on compacted sand.
Flamimgos spoted in the lagoons East of the town. Large floks of sea birds spoted on the West end, near the fishing boats port.
Report Check-InAmazing place, you can go to the beach, is clean and peaceful! We loved it and very safe
Report Check-InSlightly west of the town there is an excellent place to camp -on hard packed sand on the beach. Head out towards the Unidad Academica Sisal (UNAM) on Calle 20 and Turn Right close to the junction with Calle 44 - opposite the Centro de Salud Sisal. There are some dilapidated palapas to your right . They are owned by a Collectivo and provide shade but ask for Jose. Don't let the local police say you can stay there without asking for Jose. Or keep straight on towards the water and the beach is free, sand hard packed until about 20m from the water. Use your own judgement. Jose suggested he has showers and toilets by the dilapidated palapas but they were locked when we were there. Small town. Friendly. Secure (tranquillo) was how the locals described it. Flamingos fly overhead early evening. Great spot. Close to the water. Pemex few abarottes around.
