Costa Rica
iOverlander cannot verify if wild camping is permitted at this location. It is your responsibility to verify local laws or obtain consent before staying the night.
After crossing the bridge (or the river if the bridge has been taken away by the rain), you will find a bit further on the right a spot under trees and palm trees. People park here during the day as it is the best spot to enter the water and to ride Pavones. When I was there, at night, there was either nobody or a couple of tents.
For surfers: You're at the beginning of the point. To get into the water at high tide, walk a bit to the left of the beach to avoid the impact zone. At low tide, to avoid the rocks, walk all the way left, next to big rock into the water.
And the morning, you can be the first one to be in the water, as everybody has to walk or drive to come here.
This is a dream spot for me.
Enjoy!

Local na beira da praia, plano, tranquilo e seguro, muitos surfistas na praia. Sem sim de internet. Tem um rio com água limpa e fresca que deságua no mar. Ficamos 2 dias aqui. Não dispõe de nenhuma facilidade. Por do sol fantástico. Super recomendamos!
Report Check-InNice and quiet spot to have a look to the surfers. But according to us it is too much shady, we prefer the spot "Playa Pavones", 1km north. Sunset is wonderful!
Report Check-Inwe stay here for 2 nights with no problem right on the beach quite place
Report Check-InWe stay here 3 nights and enjoy a beautiful parking place for our van in front of the surf spot. Perfect ! Quiet at night and police come around so it’s safe all day & night.
Report Check-InAmazing spot to camp. Close o town for groceries but far enough away for quiet seclusion. Def recommend!
Report Check-InThis place is the Costa Rica of
The ‘90s. Please keep it that way. Be nice. Speak Spanish. Wave and greet everyone Pay in colones. Clean up after yourself
If you do, This place will remain special. Don’t fuck it up
Spent 3 nights. Poor cell reception but it works Wave fires all day. Be carful of rocks
Unbelievable camping right on the point. Great people, better surf. Leave any attitudes at home. Magical
Report Check-InSpent 3 nights here. It was super chill, there is no one there for most of the day unless the surf is good, if it is not good though you would never know it got crowded. Little fresh water source at lake to fill showers or take a bottle shower, 5 minute walk to store.
Report Check-InGreat spot in front of the pointbreak. People will park there during the day, very quiet at night. Great place to stay if you surf. Walking distance to the grocery store.
Report Check-InStayed here for one week. It was amazing. Right on the beach with super friendly locals around. The place can get busy when the swell is on. No facilities but the town has a supermarket and a few restaurants.
