Mud volcanos | Wild Camping

Mud volcanos open and wild camping possible. The dirt road is fine when dry but best avoided if raining / has recently rained as it’s pure compact mud. The mud volcanoes themselves are not necessarily massive but a really enjoyable visit nonetheless.

Open and no problem to camp. After 9am, lots of groups and taxis come.
Don't miss the big volcano 200m east, you can even take a bath!
Even further, you can set the bubbles on fire! Works best with a firestone.

We went to this place today. It is not closed. A lot of tourists there. The only thing is that you may not be suppose to camp here. But we did not see any guard there.

Very nice place to camp! It was to windy for our rooftop tent, so we took the road back until we found a spot more covered by the surrounding hills. 4x4 recommended, especially if it's rainy! It's a hill of mud

it's an entertaining place! you can hear the blop sounds all night! after you leave the main track, about 500m before the spot, the soil is pure clay. ok when dry, but I would not try after rain. we drove up the hill through the very bumpy tracks with an old Renault 4, and local Lada taxis go there too with tourists, so you can get there with a 2wd provided it's not too low to the ground, and dry weather.

Beautiful place for camping. In the daytime lots of tourists visiting. Recommend at the sunset time.

Nice place but hard to reach because street is also muddy. Don't try during rain! 4x4 recommended! Didn't stay here for night but could be nice. Please find here correct coordinates: 39.996376, 49.402915.

Entertaing Mud Vulcanos.
The place is windy but thats the only negative

From the big junction about 15 km south of Qobustan, follow "Spal Zavodu" signs but keep right after crossing the railway. Keep to this unoaved Track for 3km.
