Latest Check-Ins

Stayed for 1 night. It is now $15 per person. We got it down to $25 total for 2 adults, 2 kids, and a dog since we were leaving early the next day. There is a mariposario (butterfly house) where you can see the blue morpho butterfly and a path that leads to the river.

Beautiful and tranquil spot. Previous posts do not do it justice in its current state. New managers Suza and Juan are incredibly welcoming and take amazing care of the place. Clean and welcoming indoor common space and outdoor covered fire pit in the middle of a pond. They made a fire, roasted plantains, and offered us coffee. Walking trails down to the river. Agreed it is only for smaller rigs, and not many spots to get level without help, but if you are good at leveling yourself it is a beautiful garden to camp in. Also restaurant on site, recommended by other travellers but we did not eat there. Paid $10US pp. Jacuzzi for addl. fee, and shipping container casitas for rent.

Very nice place, very small and the ground is definitely not flat. Anything bigger than a small van won't fit.

the name of the place is "blue morpho lodge" . they offer WiFi, best for tents and small 4x4 with a roof tent. nice garden with many flowers. a couple of trails along the river. very quiet. nice place to sit around a campfire in the middle of a Duck pond. we payed 4000 p.p and night

Report Check-In

The place was unattended and seemed closed. Prob because of Covid. We stayed at Paraiso Manatiales instead (8Q32+5P Grecia, Alajuela Province), which was very nice - a sheltered restaurant, pool, toilet and showers.

Report Check-In

Found this place unattanded, common space locked, bathroom locked no water but light. A local told us that this is because of low season. Camped instead at Memo's restaurant and Cabins.

Victor is the owner, very friendly. He is also an official guide for the Volcan Poas and to make you discover the area. He could take around 5000 colones to go up but probably negotiable.

Nice small camground. We arrived in the dark so had to knock on the front door. No problem at all though. Friendly owner who explained us what there is to see around the area. 5,000 colones for one night. Shower, toilet and little washing area available.

Report Check-In

Great little camping in Victor’s front yard where we could easily park our camper van. There is a small cabin with clean shower and toilet. We paid 5000 colones in total for 2 persons for 1 night.

Report Check-In

We camped 2 nights here and it was just fine although the bathroom was dirty and no toilet paper. We paid 10,000 colons per night for 3 of us.

lovely little campsite in a man's front yard, no name, but you will see a sign saying 'camping and picking area'. owner is super friendly and the temperature is awesome after the heat of the rest of the area. facilities good and clean with a hot shower and lovely little covered area on the middle of the duck pond. good flat and shaded area, big enough for maybe 5-6 rigs, but nothing bigger than a panel van would fit through the gate. drinking water right out of the mountain, 200m from the town with little shops and a restaurant. plenty of hikes and waterfalls in the area. we negotiated the price for 2000 colones per person.
