Guyana
Pleasant wander through the jungle to a 30m high canopy walk through the tree-tops with a guide. We went in the middle of the day so didn't see much, but if you can time your drive to pass there either early morning or late afternoon (they recommend 06:00hrs and 17:00 hrs) it would probably be worthwhile. Unfortunately the lodge doesn't welcome overlanders parking-up for the night, so it's difficult to be there at the best times to see the critters.
The guide was knowledgeable and did his best to find interesting things for us to see. It takes about 1 hr and is little over-priced at GYD5000, but that includes refreshments (tea, coffee, juice and home-made cookies) when you get back to the lodge. It's one of the few attractions to break up the loooong drive from Georgetown to Lethem.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
we wanted to make the walk in the evening and arrived at 3 pm. No Guest's but the staff called the Manager, and he said that we can't stay over night here with our camper, so we leave.
Report Check-InWe were allowed to camp overnight with the help of Adith and Dr Racheal Thomas from Iwokrama Research centre. Make sure you meet John amazing guide and great photographer. Saw more wildlife from the ground than at the canapy walk
