Brazil
Very long dirt road with an insane amount of wildlife to spot (at least at this time of the year). We saw over 100 caymans swimming, sunbathing and even crossing the road. There were lots of colorful birds, including parrots. We've also seen otters, wild boars, capybara's, frogs and a lot more. So amazed!! It took us 3 days to drive the loop, because of the many stops.
For camping spots, there's plenty along the road, but at the moment a lot of them are flooded. You can often park next to the stream, but it's hard to get level and you'll be right next to the crocs, which is a bit scary. We just pulled up next to the road, it's very quiet at night.
NOTE: the ferry crossing the Paraguay river is closed at certain times of the year. Ask a local if you're planning on driving the loop.
We don't have any photos of this place yet.

Drove the loop in 2 days and stayed overnight halfway at “bush wildcamp”. Nice route but we found the Transpantaneira in Pantanal North that we did the week before, much more impressive in terms of wildlife. We saw tens of toucans in the trees which was awesome; and other birds but furthermore no other wildlife. The 5min ferry ride is ridiculously overpriced.
Report Check-InDefinitely worth the drive!
Road is in good condition, at least when it’s dry. Ferry ran.
We saw hundreds of caimans AND a Jaguar crossing the street. Truly amazing.
Great way to see the Pantanal on your own with lots of lodges to stop at. Note that the ferry crossing the Paraguay river is closed at certain times of the year. Ask a local if you're planning on driving the loop.
