An update on my previous message whilst camping; the shower is good(although not all too clean) but if you need to use the toilet; use the cleaner ones in the restaurant behind the bar!

Not an obvious place to find; the entrance is at the left side of the busstop 'Chez Alice',at the left side of a long white wall. Very calm nowadays, it used to be very busy Alice told us. Nice lady, nice place, we camped in the garden inside of the compound.

We agree with the last Comment from Motomorgana. Alice is a wonderful and great Host! But the sandy Car Park near the Street is noisy and smelly (Dog Shit). Sanitary Facilities are run down. The big Restaurant is closed at the Moment, Alice wants to sell or rent it to another Person. Nevertheless this spot and Alice are Overlander Legends worth stopping for at least one Night. Alice and her Staff can help with almost everything and are fluent in English, French and German. The Food is good (Wiener Schnitzel with Fries) and well priced. And it's one of the cheapest Places we have ever stayed: 2.000 CFA (3 Euro) per Night for two People and Car.

Alice is 84 years old now and we think she is absolutely great. She is just a really nice personality with lots of experience and a caring attitude towards her customers. The team of locals is nice as well and the compound itself is great. But unfortunately Alice's attitude isn't shared by her daughter and grandson. The daughter doesn't seem all too interested and the grandson doesn't really seem to care about the customers when arriving in the middle of the night with the car stereo volume high. We also didn't really like the baboon in captivity on the property and we think 6 dogs running around and leaving stuff on the parking lot is just a bit over the top. Food was good though and reasonably priced, but there were almost no customers around which made the huge barn like dining room feel empty. We stayed in one of the double rooms with ventilation and bathroom at 7000 CFA/ night.

If you have a ground tent this is a really nice place to stay with camping on grass out the back. For roof tents you camp in the sandy carpark next to the main road with a gate. 1500 pppn great restaurant. rooms available for 7000 with fan and bathroom, no mossie net.
