Report Check-InThey charged 2000 pp for the museum and 5000 for camping. We negotiated and payed 6000 in total (2 person, 1 Campingtruck). Because the light in the terrible shower under the museum wasn't running, we were allowed to use toilet and shower in a room.

is on strike and is temporarily closed... Has been closed a whole month now and didn't seem like it will open any time soon.
A really nice compound with museum and hospital, where you could learn a lot about the work of Albert Schweitzer. But the people working here are currently on strike! So nothing was open when we were there and no one wanted to show us anything. Not even the guesthouse was open, so we decided not to stay there and left.
Report Check-InVery nice, secure, quite and impressive Compound at the River. Camping in front of Albert Schweitzers House (now Museum). We were allowed to stay for free/donate whatever we want. They opened an okay Toilet and a nasty Shower for us (under the Museum). New Guesthouse with different Rooms from 15.000 CFA available. Laundry with real Washing Machine (about 2.500 CFA per Machine). Restaurant cooks on demand. Little Zoo with Antelopes and Pelicans. Mosquitoes were aggressive. Albert Schweitzer is one of the greatest Personalities of our last century. The whole Place is definitely worth a Visit, although you should speak French to get the most out of it. Don't miss to visit the old but completely renovated Hospital, very impressive (the Museum is the more boring Part). We stayed for 4 Days, mainly because it just was a very relaxed Place.
Report Check-In15k for a Dorm bed with shower and toilet. Camping in carpark free (donation) including toilet. We negotiated 5k for use of shower/toilet in a Dorm room and camped. Right next to the river. Museum closes at 5pm.
Report Check-InReally nice place to stay. Also Lambarene is a nice city to spend a day. Hotel next to the river, rooms with fan and good shower (lot of water hot and cold). Good to wash some clothes as well ;)
