Amazing view of Luanda, the club is in remodeling and thinking of travelers made a unique place.
Parking for cars and a beautiful garden to put the tent and sink perfect for bicycles or motorcycles, at the moment the bathrooms and showers enabled are the very modern paddle tennis court.
In the future, the Overlander area will have a shade.
Thank you very much.

Easy spot to stay for 2 nights. Mosquitos and some noise the second night (a bunch of trucks came to offload cargo containers) but worked as a place to sleep! The people were very nice, and fun to have conversations with! Some showers are hot, some cold but all clean. Pretty sunrise in the morning

Report Check-In

Perfect place to stay in the city center of Luanda. Huge parking to park your car for free and to enjoy the view on the bay. Hot shower and really clean toilets. Really friendly staff. Draft Cuca Beer for 1200 Kz at the bar

Report Check-In

Great place indeed.
Best showers in west Africa (last one on the right). Wifi, reasonable price mojito at the bar, good food (but a bit expensive), nice view over the bay, secured place.
Rui, one of the manager, was really welcoming with us!

Report Check-In

Great stay, 6 very modern, hot showers available and 2 toilets. Racket ball courts and a small bar available at the corner of the car park. Food at the proper restaurant was good but the beers are pricey. Yacht club president came over to say hi and is a keen overlander himself. Nice place and still free! Note: security guards told me I should ask permission before taking photos of the marina and told me off when he saw me.

Report Check-In

we had a wonderfull time at club naval da luanda and there are still 6 showers and 2 toilets! see the view from our place.

Report Check-In

5 quiet nights here. Clean and cold showers, free toilets, beautiful view, nice security staff. At walking distance of everything. All for free!!! Perfect !!!!

Report Check-In

Beautiful and peaceful place on a crowded and expensive Luanda. Nice view of the city skyline specially at dust. Friendly staff and very clean toilet and shower. A perfect place to relax a couple of days in our African Journey and arrange visas and CPD issues. And "Clube Navale" is for free! Next, there is a nice swimming pool (Clube Nautico da Ilha de Luanda) at reasonable price

Report Check-In

As described, on the parking lot of the yacht club, with a beautiful view of the harbour and city and within walking distance of a few restaurants, the beach, a supermarket and the promenade.

Even though we arrived on a Saturday, we did not find the place very noisy at night or too busy during the day. We had access to very clean bathrooms with showers in the admin building. The manager, Bruno was very friendly and helpful and we are so grateful to have been able to spend 4 lovely days at zero cost. Would not have thought it was possible in the most expensive city in the world!

Report Check-In

I arrived in the dark, but they welcomed me right away and showed me a spot to stay with my tent. Still really nice showers and toilets. Noises where okay for me. There are some disco's with, but it didn't disturb me.

Report Check-In

Stayed here for one night. The manager Bruno greeted us and showed us the bathroom/showers and we’re to park. You camp on a big parking lot with a great view of the city. It’s a very raw camp, probably more suitable for big rigs then RTT’s. Didn’t sleep much due to noice from all the security, early morning activity etc. good for a night or two will passing through Luanda

Report Check-In

Fabulous!! We were the first overlanders in 2 years and we were met with nothing but kindness and unprecedented helpfulness. Access to showers and toilets, water and hook up. Camping area is currently being built. Car park is huge and as mentioned before, the view!!!!! Highly recommended. We stayed for free. There is a bar and restaurants on site.

Report Check-In

Great place to stay as mentioned by others. Also found out that Antoine has a workshop inside the compound. He fixes anything from ships, boats to 4x4. He can be reached under +244 940869304
And there is a regular crew of 4x4 enthusiasts here.

Report Check-In

great place!! unbelievable something like this still exists in Africa!! We enjoyed very much parking here for one week, waiting for our visa extension. Met many lovely people here and got nice ideas what to visit in Angola!! The nearby promenade is a good place to have some walks without being always concentrated looking on the ground for traps.
We were very lucky because of loud playing music or some previous posters are very, very sensitive about noises.

Report Check-In

Very nice people, safe place to overnight. If you ask nicely, you can fill up your water tanks from a tap close to the main building. You can also change money for a better rate than at the bank. One advice: if you want a quiet night, stay away from the small guard hut at the water, as all the guards gather there at night 😉

Report Check-In

Good place to stay in Luanda. As described below. Fast WiFi close to the office. Ricardo the groundskeeper is super friendly and sells Cuca for 200kw if you're cheap like we are..

Report Check-In

This place has the best view over the harbour, with the city skyline as the backdrop. Extremely clean toilets and showers, with lovely polite and friendly cleaners. All the security guards are very welcoming, the music wasn't that disturbing during the week but we can imagine it gets loud on the weekends! We stayed a few nights and would highly recommend to other overlanders.

Report Check-In

Really friendly place, very fast free internet close to secretary. Very clean toilets and showers. Nice view on harbour at night.
No shops around only clubs with loud music/expensive restaurants.
A lot of security all night so it's safe.
Unfortunately on Sunday it was veeeery loud music till morning but Mon, Thus were ok. Good place to stay few days to do things in the city.

Report Check-In

Very scenic view of the harbor. We stayed there on a Friday night. Bathrooms reeked of urine and the bars played extremely loud booming music until 5 a.m. then patrons stayed in the parking lot yelling and laughing until almost 6 a.m.. Earplugs were insufficient against the unrelenting noise and we got a. very bad night's sleep.

Report Check-In

Very scenic location overlooking the harbor, but our earplugs were no match for the extremely loud music booming from the bars. We were here on a Friday night. The music continued until 5 a.m. then loud laughing people stayed in the parking lot until almost 6 a.m.. That made for a very bad night's sleep.

The Director is very nice and friendly, as everyone says!

Camped in tent on tarmac car park. Very nice showers and ablutions. Very nice view of Luanda. Lots of people around, but also lots of security.

I asked for a bucket of water to clean my water reservoir before repairing a crack. They introduced me to the boat mechanic who provided a bucket of water and lent me a few tools too.

The car park now has 4 bars with a (fake) grass area. Very nice and relaxing with a good atmosphere. Not noisy compared to the nightclub. I met some lovely people here who have a keen interest in overlanding.

Might be useful to some: the Octopus marine shop (next to main entrance) sells epoxy glue, mosquito repellant wrist bands, distilled water, and a few other items.

Report Check-In

Still great place with helpful people. Toilettes are open all night but not the showers which does‘nt matter at all. If like to have a drink or a dinner with a wonderful athmosphere visit Café Del Mar.

Report Check-In

Great place!! Such nice people and the best shower since Europe!

3 motos and tents. No problem at all.

Report Check-In

I am very grateful for the management of the Club Naval for allowing me to camp for free in their parking with beautiful views over the bay. The staff was extremely helpful.

Report Check-In

Motorcycles and Tents welcome :D
Good WiFi, showers, toilets, security and view! Still loud clubs playing music.

Report Check-In

As Anja and Lukas said! Is a good place to stay a couple of days... On Sundays is very noise but quiet during the week. Clean toilets and shower to use for free. Internet was slow. But people was really friendly and is a good place to meet other overlanders. If you go to the Militar Museum, Monday is closed. Just near the Museum there is a restaurant where you can eat a big hamburger with cold drink for 1.000kwanzas.

Report Check-In

We also were given a worm Welcome and camped for free. Very nice Views on the glamorous Beach Front of the City from our Roof Top Tent. Clean and nice Toilets and Shower, although closed at Night. A lot of Security 24/7. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Restaurant was very expensive but good (had Dinner there once). On the other Days we just cooked ourselves (no Obligation at all to go to Restaurant). We changed Money at the Reception for a quite good Rate (390 Kz for 1 Euro). Laundry possible but a bit expensive. Wifi worked well, even in our Tent (parked close to main Building). Downside: two nearby Clubs played Music every Evening. A few Nights were okay but we also had very noisy Nights with very loud Music until 7 in the Morning! No chance to sleep at all without Ear Plugs. Some of the Yacht People are also Overlanders and park their nice Rigs here. As we were hanging out there with CruisingOverland for a few Days we were invited by different generous People to join them on a City Trip, Lunch and Boat Ride. The nearby Fort with Military Museum was also worth a Visit (nice Views). The Shoprite is a bit far away but offers the best Prices for selected Goods (we did our best and cheapest Shopping here so far).

Report Check-In

Only guards were there so no WiFi but showers and toilets were available. Both were closed at night and not opened until 8am (the cafe has the keys). On a Sunday night a nearby bar played music loudly until 4am and then cars started arriving at 6am. The lights were as bright as daylight all night. No privacy or shade. OK for a night.

Report Check-In

amazing how friendly all people here are! Some of the stuff are also overlander so they help you with all you need.
military museum ist worth a visit and also the underground museum near the national bank
it is a money museum and it is free.
here you can hold a 12kg gold in your hand!

Report Check-In

Awesome free camping spot. Club Naval staff are very friendly.

Report Check-In

Try to camp as far away from the ramp/containers as possible, all the rowers arrive at about 5am and start to make a lot of noise. They do not leave until 10am. Otherwise great place to stay for free.

Report Check-In

Stay at the yacht club for free with shower and toilet. A walk down the boulevard and visit up to the fort (military museum) is highly recommended at only 100kwanzas per person.

Report Check-In

Free camping on car park. Very noisy in weekend.
