Lovely campsite as previously reviewed. We had a refreshing swim and laze around the pool. Dinner on the veranda overlooking the wateringhole. Spotted a steenbokkie and a giraffe came down to drink. The moths were troublesome, but pretty once they retreated to the tree, there they looked like fairy lights. Wifi good on the stoep. We found the price exorbitant for camping plus the Rhino conservancy fee a tad over the top. Should be included in the camping fee then you know what you’re in for. Plus side we didn’t pay VAT nor social development fee. That sweetened the deal. Our meal was very good. Bar tab ridiculously expensive, Malawi Shandy R70 ( two tins of soda and a few drops of bitters!) . Is what it is.

Best choice for Eastern entrance to Etosha, if you are looking for a bit of comfort and are willing to drive 20 mins longer for game viewing. We stayed at Tamboti Campground. Nice swimmingpool with deck chairs and sunshades, great lodge with nice furniture, friendly and helpful staff. Every campsite has own ablusions and kitchen. We stayed longer to recharge our batteries. No animals at the waterhole, but saw plenty animals in the park.

Really nice place, camping is good but for the price you dont even get a table or roof. So when we showed up in a 6hr rain storm at 7pm, the staff were trying to rush us for booking a game tour at 8am, not what we really wanted to do/think about at that time. The pool is great, nice water hole for watching animals at night. We did the afternoon (3-7) Etosha Safari tour for $55usd, totally worth it! That included entry to the park (we cant go in with motos), a cooler with water and beer and really nice snacks. The tour operators all talk to eachother when driving so you will see animals. We saw giraffes, a black rhino walked in front of us (5m) saw a male lion from 10m, 5 cheetahs(15m) 12-15 elephants (15m), and everything else, glad we did it!

Very luxury for a campground (Tamboti). Absolutely clean with a pool and very nice sitting area looking to the waterhole. Unfortunately, there were no animals there and they told us sometimes they are and sometimes not.
The private Ablution is huge and also very clean.
Staff was super friendly.
They rised the price from 1st October 2018 up to 255.- pppn. Yes, not very cheap but worth it.

Stayed at Tamboti Camp within Onguma Area. Wonderful bush camp, trees but little lunchtime shade, best private ablution for the past 4000+km trough southern Africa! N$230pppn, restaurant and kiosk at reception. Recommendable.

Report Check-In

We did not sleep at the campsite. It was fully booked.
So we got a pitch at the overflow for N$200 pp. This is to much. Only 1 toilet and donkeyshower right at the gate.
It is cheaper then the park, but the park was fully booked.
So overall, to expensive for what you get.
