Something not right?

Description

Camping and Chalets. Set up for big overlanding trucks. Nice location on the long Kande Beach. Camping on sand a bit away from the beach, with power. Toilet and shower block was ok, but when three overland trucks with a total of 60 people pulled inn they should look after the toilets more regularly. Bar at the beach and restaurant tucked away in a dark corner of the property. Update: Internet is Skyband pay by the mb. $7 pppn.

This is an overland lorry stop. It has a bar and beach. The toilets and showers are borderline acceptable, depending on the number of people. Lacking in charm.

The main road is currently not accessible due to heavy rains so you have to take a little detour to get here. The place is setup nice and spacious and it looks like there used to be a lot of life here pre covid. We were the only ones here and the place is a little run down. There is a lot of workers around though. There is a guy at the entrance selling artworks and he came to our campground while we had breakfast. He was very pushy and did not wanna leave before we either bought something or gave him clothes or money which was a bit annoying. He should stay at his shop and not visit the campground. Other than that, this place is fine for a one or two night stay.

Turned up at 5.30pm to a closed gate! Not officially open till April. Owners kind enough to let us stay anyway as was getting dark. Lovely place, lots of space and not a busy beach. Showers and toilets all good.

Disappointed, nice place but doesnt offer much. Yeah, beach is nice and camp is ok, there is even 3 overlander buses here and not a problem. Paid $2000 for wifi that doesnt work, cant even send a picture on WhatsApp, let alone anything else (email, Facebook, etc). Food is bla, they messed our order up, salad comes with no dressing and when I asked for dressing he gave me an attitude and said the yellow bottles have dressing for which I then grabbed 2 and squeezed them. Full of ketchup (not dressing) and so it went like this. Why am I paying to fight for everything here? Pizza and burger sucked, no other option as we havent seen a grocery store in 5 days, lol. Glad it's just for the night, place looks nice but no one cares.

This camp is nice. Ablutions very basic. We were warned that if big 60 passenger over lander trucks come we have to move into the sun area.
I cannot see how these toilets will accommodate all. Nice beach. relaxing. There was now big rigs.

After 4 years a stay at Kande again and nothing much has changed, they still operate on the overland trucks mostly but it has been quiet as the staff says. The place is quiet without the overland trucks. Restaurant is okay, salads from Kw1500 and mains Kw5000-6000. Nice quiet beach without the usual guys selling their stuff although there is always one persistent guy....Plenty of space to camp but trucks come first as they say. Hot water showers and dive school next door.

Camping under Bandas a bit back from the beach. Beach is kept quite clean and private. Food is excellent and staff are friendly. Can get a bit wild with the overland trucks as this is one of their party destinations.

Better avoid this place unless you are looking for a very noisy night. There are coming a lot overlanding trucks. They have loud music from the bar till 12:30. We didn't enjoy our stay here at all. Only plus point is the beach and free peddle boards. Camping price 4.900 mkw pppn, rooms starting at 23.400 mkw shared bathroom. When paying by card they at 5%

Beautiful spot on the lake. Good d facilities, bar + restaurant etc. Popular with overlanders. Camping sites okay, but not in beach. WiFi is Skyband so reasonably fast. $7 pppn.

Report Check-In

Nice campsite with plenty of space, $7 pppn inc electric good bar with decent food, staff friendly, ablutions ok but need sorting out really, but there was hot water all the time, fantastic quiet beach, free use of boards, and there is a dive school next door

Big place, OK for roof tents unlike the others in nkhata bay. Electricity at each pitch and a couple of shower blocks. Over landing trucks do come but it livens the place up. Nice bar, serving food. $7 per person per night. Wifi works on a pre paid voucher for a set amount of data.

Nice place, but somehow we did not feel it was not the right place for us.
