Description

It’s more than Basic as previous overlander posted. The restaurant is one of the best we have had in Africa!

Perfect campsite for 10$pppm clean ablutions, lots of shade, perfect restaurant with delicious Indiana food

Report Check-In

place is pretty run down. they have an amazing restaurant with both continental and Indian dishes, for reasonable prices. average Indian dish around 15.000 (including 3.000 for rice). food was really delicious.
fine place for a stopover, wouldn't recommend it for a longer stay, unless you go into town.

Still 10$ pp or 13k pp Kwachas. Most expensive place in Malawi for us but its in Lilongwe and quite peaceful camp with a lot of space around in the woods. Monkeys and small antelopes around. Bathrooms were OK, a bit neglected but still quite clean and very good showers (hot and enough pressure, rare in Africa).

But be aware that they are doing a lot of work those days, building big buildings around the camp (a bar area and other things) and that will change the all atmosphere when it will be done. And there was a lot of noise + workers when we were there so not very relaxing.

Restaurant is OKish, a bit pricy (13500 for a small portion of Chicken Tikamasala) and not the best Indian food for sure but cozy atmosphere, service is good and staff is very friendly (like always in Malawi).

They are perhaps the only in town camp ground still open. Worn bathrooms but nice pool and decent restaurant.

Report Check-In

They charged us $40 for 2 adults and 2 young kids despite our attempts to negotiate. Poor value for money for the camping area which was mostly sloping and the ablutions has a leaking roof so smells of damp and was very dirty when we first arrived. They spent an hour cleaning it but still was a bit unpleasant. Wi-Fi was not working for the 2 days we were there.
However, on the plus side… the wooded environment is lovely and peaceful with bushbabies after dark. Nice swimming pool. And the restaurant serves expensive but phenomenally good curry. MK12,000 for curry, rice and naan.

Report Check-In

Nice hotel restaurant bar campsite. Grass and shade and a large and clean swimming pool. Ablutions ok. Close to the Kazumu Central hospital (for pcr test) and to supermarkets and banks.
Very good restaurant with continental and Indian menus. 10$ pp but we negociated 8$ pp. check the exchange rate they use.

$20 USD for 2 people to sleep in a Campervan, nice setting with seemingly clean showers etc... ...lots of signs saying you at forbidden to bring your own food.

Absolutely no negotiation on price so we left and camped at St Peter's for 1/4 of the price.

Very nice and organised lodge with Bar Restaurants and Chalets, and a big beautiful camp site, very clean ablutions with very hot water best curry in town, highly recommend

Stopover for 1 night. Toilets and shower are basic, but clean. Good restaurant with Italian, Indish and Continental food.

Report Check-In

It didn’t feel like they cared at all whether we stayed there or not. The ablutions hadn’t been cleaned for a long time. They opened the ladies part and sometimes a friendly girl with a broom would go in, but no idea what she did there. Tgat said, to camp in a capital in some sort of forrest is quite nice.

Report Check-In

Great place to camp when in Lilongwe. Even though you’re inside a (sleepy) city, it’s quiet and almost feels like you’re on the country side.

Good restaurant with an Indian speciality on site.

Clean ablutions, electricity.

Payed 15 000 for 2 people.

Report Check-In

Green, quiet and peaceful! After a couple of days at Mabuya and the noise this is the perfect quiet place in the city to wait for a couple of days. Clean hot showers, restaurant and bar although I didn’t try, power point at the bathrooms only. They brought free firewood when I asked. 10usd

Report Check-In

What a lovely place to stay. Clean ablutions, electricity on site (if you have an extention cord), natural surrounding, friendly staff. Wifi with voucher.

Great places too camp with fancy restaurants. Clean ablutions with hot showers. Still 10USD.

One wouldn't believe that this place is right in town and not somewhere in the forest, if it wasn't for the little road traffic noise. But the crying bush baby fully compensates for that. Very spacious and clean ablutions, surroundings clean and natural. $10pppn camping, and it's worth it, considering you're right in the capital! Very good restaurant on the premises. Absolutely recommendable
