Nice place where you park on a grass lawn, good showers and toilet, good terrace near campsite to shelter for the rain, good restaurant. No decent facilities to do the dishes. You can swim in the lake, and we did a nice hike up the mountains to Arcadia, with stunning views over the lake. We paid USD12 pp for adults, USD5 pp for kids.

Report Check-In

Agree with the above. Well kept huge Lodge. We camped there for 3 Nights (12 USD pppn) and enjoied peaceful and relaxing time in nice environment directly on the lake shore. Good showers with warm water, good water pressure. WiFi is quite slow, but we had good 4G reception with Airtel Sim. May get crowded and noisy when fully booked, but we were nearly the only guests on site during our stay.

Report Check-In

Our experience at this place is like the previous users.
We paid 12 USD pppn.

Report Check-In

An extensive lodge with cottages (most on piles) of different comfort levels connected to a camping area with clean ablutions. We were assigned a pretty leveled space in front of an unoccupied tent. 43k UGX / 12 USD ppn. At the time there was only one vehicle with overlanders but two local trucks with larger tourist groups. Distant disco noise. Access fine but may become difficult when it rains. Would certainly come again.

Report Check-In

Great spot on the lake. Grassy place to camp, great restaurant and bar area. They light a fire every night up at the restaurant. Power is available at the sites if you have an extension to plug in. Best showers we’ve had in a while. Do the boat cruise around the lake and visit Arcadia Lodge at the top of the hill for amazing views. You can swim in the lake and we saw otters swimming around. $12pppn.

Report Check-In

Camping on the lake $12pppn. Nice and grassy. Restaurant available.

Report Check-In

Large area, spread out with camping space for ground tents and secure parking for motorcycle. Unfortunately a large overlanding group arrived at the same time as me... 15 vehicles. I decided to go for a furnished tent. Peace and Quiet. Paid 27 euro. Food is really way overpriced for what it is. There are some local options in the small village or restaurants in the town. But I really enjoyed my stay. Comfortable. Wifi is not that good, but my MTN local sim worked really okay. Good place and probably the best of the bunch.

Report Check-In

This is a fairly large resort with some areas for camping. We parked our truck with rtt on a level spot above the lake with use of a tent terrace for electricity and extra shelter which worked really well for us. The showers are permanently hot, hot and powerful! The lake is stunning and you can swim and canoe or take a boat trip. The restaurant is quite expensive but we cook for ourselves so not a problem to us. We stayed 4 nights and enjoyed ourselves but I must add that while we were there 3 of the nights were noisy. The first music all night and then the next 2 music till 1am. The final night was peaceful. 12 USD pppn

Report Check-In

We really thought that this was an amazing and magical place to camp. Beautiful view, nice ablutions, nice gardens and lawns, really taken care of. So we would definitely recommended it. I do understand that when it is busy, it will lose its magic and can be too crowded. Down at the water there is space for max 4 cars. Higher up, there are two more spots with a view on the lake. So maybe check in advance how busy it is.

Report Check-In

usually 12$ pp but we paid 10$ pp as we stayed for 2 nights. not many flat spots to camp. ablutions were ok, with hot water. we rented a canou for 3-4 hours (10$) which was really nice. there's a place you can stay and cook when it's raining but it's not really taken care of. at night and early morning it was very noisy from the village.

Report Check-In

Nice grassy place. Not a lot of flat areas, but a really lovely spot. Ablutions aren’t great… but worth spending a night or 2 at!

Report Check-In

We had a wonderful stay at Overland resort. We have parked our campervan in a flat, green area with amazing view over the lake. Sanitary are clean with hot showers. Very quiet area and friendly staff. Highly recommended ! Price is 12$ per person but negotiable.

Report Check-In

Place was quiet. We parked just outside tent no 10 and 9 so we could hook up to electricity. Hot showers and decent toilets. Great view of the lake. Used the tent verandah alot as it was raining. Food in restaurant not amazing. As we stayed 3 nights got price down from $12 to $10.
Most places we had visited before only had parking lots to offer cars with RTT so this was the best choice. Walking distance from local market.

Report Check-In

Nice site with pretty views. One overlander truck but minimal noise. WiFi was down while we were here. 12usd pp. The Edirisa craft shop has good, affordable souvenirs locally made. The money goes to a very good cause, we visited the clinic on the island to see for ourselves!

Report Check-In

We really enjoyed it here. Stayed 6 nights and had the whole place to ourselves (Covid). Food is 'ok'. We had an alright meal and an appalling meal. Music booms across the lake from neighbouring establishments, but is off by 23:00. Wifi not working while we were there. Very hot showers and clean amenities. We negotiated 40K UGX total per night. Big rigs use far entry. Amazing views over lake from three sides.

Report Check-In

this place is soo nice and beautifull when it comes to camping area its very neat with a green grass around, also beautifull cottages, with hot shower and clean bathrooms.there is à restaurant, they cook good and it has everything you want .

Report Check-In

Faded glory. What a pity this could have been a beautiful resort.
Bad infrastructure upkeep - smelly toilets and damaged tents. Surly reception and overrun with overlanders. Don’t recommend although the setting is beautiful

Report Check-In

When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised, we have the campsite to ourselves, managed to find a flat spot on the sloping site and despite there being two overlanding trucks(which were parked at the other end of the resort) it was very peaceful, especially as it was the weekend.
We decided to stay another night. But 5pm the next day, 2 more overlanding trucks arrived and set up there tents all around us. Despite the lack of privacy now as we were surrounded by tents, it was still very quiet
$12pppn - we thought is a tad expensive, but you do get hot showers, clean bathrooms, got to watch the rugby World Cup on the tv, laundry for 500 per piece, wifi - but it wasn’t working whilst we were there and overall had a nice experience. Don’t let the grumpy guys at reception put you off, all other staff are very nice and super helpful.

Report Check-In

Wonderful landscape with view to the lake
Gut in the reception had not may words to say, but the other staff was very friendly and nice. For Campsite to the restaurant you have to walk a few minutes. Free WIFI only at reception and in the restaurant.
The relation between offer and price is not very attractive, that costs them one star🙁
When we were there no overlander had a party. Nevertheless of you look for a calm place it'say be better to look further away from the village.
Camping US$ 12ppn

Report Check-In

Nice place if you are rich and can afford a cabin. Tent area is on a slight slope, not much shade. Big pavilion to use (if no overlander truck which there was). Restaurant/ bar is ok, pricey and not much to eat in town. Neighbor cranks the music at 4000 mega watts (not sure why). Wifi is non existent, really, dont count on it to open a photo on WhatsApp. Really nice view though! I'll give them that, the place is nice but as a tent person we felt like they didnt care and it's a 5min to the lodge. Probably the best place to camp in the area if that's saying anything.

Report Check-In

We stayed here for three nights. We hailed for good weather, but didn’t have it. It’s worth noting the lake is at almost 2000 meters above sea level so it can get very cold. The campsite was large, with shelter, power and good ablutions with warm water. Food was awful though, beware! Has DSTV so could watch the six nations. Staff were very helpful and very friendly. Had the weather been better it’s a great spot to enjoy the lake!

Report Check-In

Nice place and good food. The first night no Campers or overlandertrucks but a group in the restaurant was noisy until 4am in the morning!
Second night there was an overlandtruck on the site and also busy and noisy. During the day many local visitors passed through the camping and were around our car. All in all not the best place to relax but beautiful view on the lake.

Report Check-In

We didn't expect much when we came but we liked it! Maybe luck as it was very quiet, only one other family camping next to us. Camping is right on the grassy lakeshore. There was one tour bus but I don't know where they slept, they ate separately in the top bar, and generally quiet.

Bar had a fire pit in the evening, food and beers were good, we would recommend!

Report Check-In

This place is only kitted out for large groups. There is one grassy (muddy and flooded) area to camp, and they will expect you to share it with h as many other campers as come. The toilets are clean and the showers are hot. The food at the restaurant is perfectly acceptable (but the chapattis are delicious!) and the staff at the restaurant are friendly. Camping is 10 USD pppn and they wanted us to pay before we could see the campsite. This place is to avoid if you can find space at any of the other places along the lake.

Report Check-In

Disappointing also for us. We arrived at the huge and busy Site and just wanted to negotiate about the Price (it's fixed at 10 USD pppn, discounts only if you stay more than four Nights). Meanwhile another large Overlander Truck full of People arrived and asked us to park our Car at another Place so the fat Truck could turn. Unfortunately we did him the Favor just the find out the Guide went to Reception meanwhile to check in all his Guests. So we were ignored until the whole Truck was done just to hear another 'no discount' again. Not interested in arrogant Staff, we left for Kalebask.

Report Check-In

We didn't expect much of this place but it was surprisingly nice. But only when you´re lucky and don´t have any Overlander trucks around. We were basically by ourselves and had a nice view of the lake. Ablutions are clean. Food at the restaurant was mediocre. WiFi didn´t work well.

Report Check-In

Beautiful location next to Lake, but staff doesn't seem to have good control over the place. Someone came to wash a minibus on the campsite next to us using lake water and left all their trash just there on the grass. Earlier a group of school children (more than a hundred) was allowed on the campsite and were all over our stuff. If you are lucky and none of these things happen it could be a very nice place. (I didn't even mention the noisy Overlanding trucks).

Report Check-In

The grasfield directly on the sea is not strong enough for truckcamper and the other place is behind the tent nr. 9 and the wardenhouse. The carpark is uneven and muddy, the ablutions needs a renovation, the showers are hot. The staff are not interested. WIFI are free but very slow. The supply road are for the last 200-300 metre are very tight and rutted.

Report Check-In

Very nice campsite, stright at the lake. Hot shower, clean toilets.

Report Check-In

Excellent place to relax for a while. They thought of almost anything (except a kitchen) and everything is well maintained. Small grassy (but steep) area right next to the lake. When there are no overland trucks it's quiet and peaceful. When there are, well...
Paid 10$ pppn. Meals are cheap but of mediocre quality. Cano rent is 10$ per day.
Wifi is terrible.

Report Check-In

great place, quiet, grassy, shady.

Report Check-In

great camping spot, nice grass, great shade and facilities

Report Check-In

adding photo. nice place when no big overlanding group there. realty enjoyed our stay. $10pppn

Report Check-In

Disappointing... Nice location, No water initially and then cold water showers. Hot water cylinders turned off over night to save electricity so also cold shower in the morning...Wifi was VERY slow when it worked... All the staff just want to sell you not tours, very loud overland groups drinking and partying in campsite until late...Would not go back.

Report Check-In

Good location at Lakeside. Camping area at gate 2 used by overland trucks but we got our truck on grass right next to waters edge. Quite a steep site . Showers Hot & clean . Large site with restaurant & terraced bars. Food ok. Boat trips can be arranged.

Report Check-In

Very big campsite. Well set up, good and clean facilities but to big for us. Lots of big tour companies surrounded us, being noisy.. We had very big expectations and were a bit dissapointed about the place. Maybe we just visited at the wrong time!
We paid 6 usd pppn after some negociating.

Report Check-In

This has to be one of our favourite camp spots so far. Large area and they have thought of everything. There are taps with water to do washing, clean well kept bathrooms with hot showers, great grass and areas to chill out. The wifi is not great and the restaurant food was disappointing. Great view and great place. We paid $8pp to camp.

Report Check-In

Nice place with hot shower and wifi, difficult though to find a flat spot for camping but directly at the lake

Report Check-In

Perfect place at the lake. Bring a 30 meter cable and you get power at the site. We paid 7 usd pppn (stayed a week).

Report Check-In
