Good to stock up. Can pay by card. They have parking for overlanders. I don't have the coordinates for A1 Restaurant anymore and thought of mentioning it here. It is on Google maps. It is a very good Indian restaurant not too far from checkers. We had a delicious butter curry chicken with butter garlic naan bread. They also serve pizzas and alcohol. If someone visit please add the location on IOverlander. There is also a good liquor shop right next to it and a Castrol oil shop close by.
Report Check-InLarge and well stocked Shoprite, it is the most northerly one in Malawi so if heading North stock up here.
There is a special car park for coaches and overland trucks (big rigs) with no height restriction.
At the complex is a pharmacy, money changer, ATM that accepts Visa AND Mastercard, electronics shop, Pep kids store, Airtel store, and toilet for 50 kwatcha.
You can park here and walk across the roundabout to the local food/clothes market for fresh produce. Vegetables and fruits at the market are WAY cheaper than in store.
Report Check-InGreat shop, has everything you need. The bureau de exchange had no dollars so went to another across the road by the puma petrol station, it was upstairs but good rates.
Report Check-InBesides a super stocked shoprite, there is also a Money Exchange Bureau where you can get USD for MKW
