Description

Amazing private site on the shore of Doreen Lake. Two campfire rings, enough space for maybe 2-3 rigs. About a 1/2 mile of rough (high clearance) trail to get to the spot after about 15 miles of rough pavement and gravel roads. Worth it.

Don't follow the coordinates in iOverlander. they lead into a terrible dirt road which requires an off road vehicle. instead check Google maps for the recreational site at the south end of the lake.

This exact spot is still snowed-in at this time of year, but it's easy to access the rec site at the south end of Doreen Lake just off the 'main' FSR trail. Fire rings, tables, long-drop toilet. Lovely lakeside spot. Free.

This might be okay when it’s dry but when it was slightly wet and muddy I had a very very hard time making it, I’d only attempt it if you’re a confident off-roader, my Chevy express was not up to the job

Stunning location, very peaceful and tranquil! There are some spots with picnic tables and fire pits on this free BC Parks Recreation Site and there are two pit toilets. All the sites were occupied, but I found a lovely spot directly on the lake side and made a little camp for the night in my converted car. Waking up to the loons calling and a squirrel on my roof...magical! Road leading up to Doreen Lake was fairly smooth (4WD) and definitely doable with a normal car and RV. Highly recommended!
