Well maintained BLM campground and very quiet except for the one night where a disrespectful guest raced around camp with his OHV in the middle of the night. There are some 15A and 30A electric plugs in at the group picnic area just across the street, in the OHV parking.
Report Check-Innice campground. No hook-ups, yet there is potable water (can't attach a hose though. Lots of motorcyclist and ATV'ers...but everyone was great. Everyone was quite at night, no parties. Vault toilets were clean and lighted. To get to the campsite you have to go over the dam for Shasta lake...which is spectacular...great night at the campground.
Report Check-InBLM campground next to Chappie OHV Day Use. $10 a night next to the river. Super quiet after the OHVers take off for the night. Campground host is super nice and great to talk to.
The dam crossing gate is closed from 10pm-6am so it feels extra safe.
Beautiful campground next to a river, ground not good for putting up a tent, its quite busy and people are having their music kinda loud & driving their OHV. $10 a night, restrooms available
Report Check-InQuiet campground, very clean. Only two others at the campsite including the camp host. $10/night- no hookups but there are toilet and water. Potable water next to the campground in the day use area. It’s VERY hot here in the day. Only stayed for the night. The host did mention a swimming hole a couple miles down the road that was accessible by truck- ask about it! Must cross Lake Shasta Dam which requires and ID check and quick vehicle inspection. Also the dam access hours are from 6 am - 10 pm, can’t cross in the middle of the night!
Report Check-InThis is a fantastic little campground that is very clean and well kept. Vault toilets and potable water (but no hose connection unless you have a bib key). Many/most spots are pull through with some fairly large ones that could handle larger rigs. Some are smaller and good for Vans or smaller Motorhomes. 27 camping spots with a mix of small/medium/large sites. This is a great deal for $5 with the Senior Pass. $10 otherwise. No Verizon or ATT&T service, but T-Mobile hotspot worked great. If campground is full you might ask the host about setting up in the OHV overflow area. Guessing this might be allowed, but maybe not.
Report Check-InNice clean and you can hear the water electric generator from the dam at night. Beautiful view.
Report Check-InCute little campground next to the river with a view of Shasta Dam. Spent a warm night in the tent, no rain fly. A little buggy though.
Report Check-InPulled in on a Sunday night. Security on the damn inspects your vehicle and checks your id. Big clean pull througs. stayed in site 6 near the river. Saw toilets but did not use them. Non threaded water spigots. 15gb down 7up t-mobile with a parsec roof antenna. No service on phone with google fi. Would stay again.
Report Check-InPaved winding road through the campground with gravel pullouts. It is fairly quiet besides the humming of the Dam. Motocross noise not to far away.
Report Check-InNice camp ground on the stream side of the dam with a dam good view. Bring bug spray and wood.
