Awesome new camp site's with private bathrooms and small kitchen

Report Check-In

Didn't stay at the campsite but had a look. Very little to no shade at all. Lodge with bar, pool and restaurant looked amazing though.

Report Check-In

the price is now NAM 260, 00 per night per person,no shade at all at the
campsite. All the campsides have private abolutions. You can still use all the lodge facilities.

Report Check-In

The best thing in this place is the lodge’s pool, big and refreshingly cool!
Campsites seem like an after-thought again, tucked away beside the staff (?) housings. Sites are quite near of each other on the hill, so it’s very windy in the evenings. Ablutions were also dirty, we stayed for 2 nights and never saw anyone cleaning anything. And they clearly weren’t cleaned for some time before, either. Staff at campsite also begged for food, so had to have a word with the management about it. Staff was clearly not trained well and didn’t do their jobs (like cleaning). So a bit expensive for what you get (N$190/pppn), but pretty much the only still decent option in Opuwo. We came from the dusty Hoarusib riverbed, so the pool was the main reason to stay here.

Report Check-In

The campsite is without grass, many of the places for cars and tends are not flat. The price isn't proportional with the level of the campsite accomodation. Anyway in Opuwo is the best accomodation.

Report Check-In

Campsites not with nice, green grass as it seems to have been in earlier years, but still have all the facilities that an overlander sometimes needs. Perhaps a bit over-priced at NAD190 ppn.

Report Check-In

Nice campsite, ablutions are good although the toilet seat was missing on one of the 2 mens toilets. Hot water in the showers. washing up facilities, water and braai on each pitch. N$190 per adult, kids half price.

The infinity pool is amazing!!!

Report Check-In

Campsite isn’t great but the infinity pool at the main building ist just awesome after hot and dusty days of wild camping.
Price still 190 pppn.

Report Check-In

Ok campsite overall but the best option I guess if you must stay at opuwu.
Price 190pp/pn.
The swimming pool is amazing, and the bar and restaurant is good. We had dinner from a small option menu but it was fine.
The campsite itself isn't good at all.
Sites have zero privacy, zero shade.
They do have electricity.
When we were there the shower had a very small stream of water (only cold). The hot didn't come at all.
They do have security.
If you stay at the campsite rather be at the pool all day and cool down !

Report Check-In

Stayed here for 3 nights. Loved the swimming pool with the incredible view very much!
We had dinner in the restaurant, this was not so nice. The just serve beef and all the sides were very spicy over-seasoned.

Report Check-In

Nice and secured Camp with lodge facilities overlooking The Valley.

Report Check-In

Lovely campsites with electricity and water at every site. Clean ablutions. WiFi at reception which is quite a walk. We had great fillets and the atmosphere was great. Infinity pool overlooking the hills to the west. N$190pppn. Great bar and extremely friendly staff.

Report Check-In

Pleasant hilltop site with clean ablutions, electricity and water. 190 N$ pp.

Report Check-In

A lovely “Country Hotel” on top of a hill behind Opuwo, expensive (but all lodges in Namibia seem to be) and with lovely views of the hills surrounding Opuwo.
The palm tree lined infinity swimming pool looks north-west over the valley and meals are on the terrace behind it.

opuwo county lodge campsite
poor sign to show the way
no shadow and stony
electric yes
water yes
braai place

Report Check-In

Lodge itself very beautiful with outstanding views from the pool. Like in most places in Namibia, the water in the pool is ice cold. Set menu 3 course for dinner 285 NAD pp (greek salad and spaghetti Bolognese we thought the price was too high so we didn't have dinner there). Campsite itself very average. Ablutions clean but very industrial, one roll of toilet paper for 3 couples...paying 190NAD pppn we expected a little more. Lack of shade was the biggest issue for us. Only campsite 4 has a view over the valley, all others obstructed by bushes. In general staff very polite but on the second night we had noise coming from the garden of staff house next to campiste after 10pm. When asked to tune down they apologized and then continued loud talking into the night. You also hear noise from Opuwo so staying over the weekend could be tricky. Campsite is very 'see through' so not much privacy either. Overall ok stay for one night to us the main lodge facilities but that's it.

Report Check-In

Set on top of a hill overlooking the valley the scenery would be hard to beat. 5 star lodge with unfriendly staff.

Campsites have zero privacy, especially with the armed security patrolling thoughout the night.

Great views from the pool but no sneaky sex!

Very nice campsite. Incredible view from the swimming pool. Very clean bathroom. We paid 190 N$pppn.

Report Check-In

Stayed here 3 nights. Friendly staff at reception. Clean ablutions. Braai, electriciti and water on spot. At our last night an overland truck with 15 people from Kiboko travel arrived. Staff of Kiboko were very noisy. Hard music and shouting. NAD 175 pppn.

Report Check-In

Perfect camping spot on top of the hill overlooking Opuwo away from the noises of the town. Lodge is beautiful, has a infinity pool overlooking the valley and good WiFi. We treated ourselfs with a massage in the ‘spa’. Campsite is a little bit far from the lodge but walkable. Ablutions clean. Nice braaispots. We think this is the best choice for opuwo

Report Check-In

its OK. Definitely not big rig friendly. Camp spots really small. Menu looked great, but only serves buffet if high no. guests.
Camp 175ppn
Buffet 320 pp
The camp sites are on top of each other. No privacy.
We ended up in carpark - campsite too small for our MAN.

Report Check-In

Really nice place, not the off-the-beaten track kind of camping, but very good for a rest before heading to Kaokoveld

Report Check-In

Beautiful place on the hill! Hot showers, very nice but a little bit cold, swimmingpool. WiFi was working and fast.

Report Check-In

nice place great view from the pool, restaurant good food only limited card. unfortunately the free WiFi wasn't working

Report Check-In

Nice spot outside of the town, in a peaceful location with great views. They had clean bathrooms and water taps and a bbq at each campsite. We decided to treat ourselves to dinner at their restaurant and boy were not disappointed! I had the beef fillet and my husband the game meat and it just left us wanting more.

They even kindly sold us beers and bottles of wine to take with us as all the places in town were not selling due to the weekend, which was a bit pricey but as we were headed out to Kaokoland land for a few days it was appreciated that they sold it to us.

Camping Price: N$175 a person.

Report Check-In

Evers thing like before, price still the same, wifi is free, best view from the pool over the landscape

Report Check-In

Beautiful lodge overlooking the valley. Large campsites close to eachother but very far from the main building. Ablution have seen better days but still ok. Might get a bit windy. 175 ND pppn

Report Check-In

After a long day driving this is a welcome quiet place in the madness of Opuwo I thought but the yearly tradefair meant 24hr music and only Puma had petrol so good hour in the queue and cash only. Not a place to stay if you have another choice...

Report Check-In

Amidst the dust,
this place to stay is a bit of a bust.
A bit pricey,
but the dish washing place is super nicey.
Small and cramped camping spaces, but with nice view of the open spaces,
Place is rather noisy and shower and toilet cleanliness is something to be improved,
The buffet at the lodge is awesome but prohibitively expensive,
But after all the place is still a worthwhile stop

Report Check-In

N$180 pp - might be a bit much - but really lovely spot too far from the hotel though. bling bling hotel probably worth trying out the food if you fancy a treat.

Report Check-In

Very expensive campsite! It has a nice view from the hill but the camping spots aren't great. Very far from main building. No wifi at campsite or main building, and shower only had a hint of warmth. Braai area, and water at each pitch. N$180 pppn.

Report Check-In

Sites with some trees on a hill quite far from main building and swimming pool. View over the valley. Wifi costs NAD 60 for password.
NAD 320 (2 adults, camper)

Comments as below. Lovely place to chill out. N$140 per person

Report Check-In

On a hill top with nice views above Opowo. Campsite is a little bit away from the Hotel, but you can use the facilities like the swimming pool at the hotel. There is also a restaurant and bar, and wifi in the reception if you pay for it. Nice campsites with grass, braai place, water and power. Toilet and shower block is nice with hot water, and there is also a place to do dishes.
