Something not right?

Description

Camping on sand next to the river. Braii places and some of the sites have power. Water is river water so we did not fill it on our tank. Toilet and shower is ok with hot water (when there are not too many people that will shower at the same time). WIFI in the restaurant is good. Restaurant, bar and two swimming pools that we did not try because the weather was too cold. P80pppn

Latest Check-Ins

Very nice place to stay a night over on the way to Chobe or Etosha.

Report Check-In

Expansive (we paid 25€ through an booking company) but quite handy as a stopover before going to Moremi (2h drive from here, lot of corrugation). River was fully dry in June. Power at site and rudimentary braii, nothing else. Water was very yellow and test like iron, the worse we had since West Africa. No hot shower for us even if the lady told us there was hot water. Sites are quite private. We arrived late and left very early.
Pretty decent Mascom 4G signal.

Lodge with rooms, chalets, place for camping. swimming pools, restaurants... next to the river.

Report Check-In

It is 190pppn so quite expensive. We read a comment that said 90pula so we drove all the way and it wasn’t. Very nice place though

Report Check-In

About 15 sites under trees, some parted with tarps, some with view of the river and the cows on the other side. Nice pool. Restaurant ok. Expensive 12$ pp.
After the checkout time they wanted to charge us for another day immediatly. Noise from the road and the pub around.
They have walking pathes, but charge extra for using them.
Ablutions good, enough and clean.
Weak 2G signal with econet.
We liked Sedia more, which is much cheaper.

Sites next to the water but overhanging trees may be a problem for big rigs and where you place your roof tent. Nice lodge facilities and good wifi. Very bumpy road to the camp so could be a problem for low ground clearance vehicles. The shared bathroom facilities are cleaned regularly. Sites share water taps. Good lodge facilities close by

Good and well maintained campsite. Sandy and shaded pitches, all quite big. About 6 times bigger then at Old Bridge Backpackers! Camping is 9 US $ or 110 pula. Ablutions are simple but clean and well maintained. Hot water. Bar and restaurant looked very nice. Wifi is average at best and only at bar. Overland trucks are stationed right inside the campsite, despite telling me otherwise when I booked. Quite some noise from them, but also from neighbouring lodges and houses. Sundowner cruise (small boat, 1.5 hours, min. 4 persons) for $12. Other activities very expensive. I went to the office of Okavango Kopano Mokoro Community Trust where I arranged a great mokoro day trip for just 418 pula including tips and parking guard at departure station.
Most pitches have no river view and not all have braaistands and power outlets. Still a great place to stay for a few days.

Really lovely place, 80 pula per person. Electricity included, nice facilities. Use of two pools and bar area. Free wifi. Much nicer than Audi Camp

Always love coming back to Island Safari Lodge. The campsite isn't amazing, but it's pretty good for Maun. Right on the river, but it's a bit willy nilly - whoever you can find a spot. its not nice when busy, esp if there are overland trucks. Some sites have plugs. Ablutions are nice, and the bar serves nice food. P80pppn

Campground needs a little work. Sites seems to be where ever you can find a spot. When we arrived there were three large overland trucks, they seem to have a cordoned off area, still has the potential of being a loud campsite. There are some power points, and wifi a the bar. We paid 80 Pula per person per night.

Report Check-In

Average facilities, swimming pool and internet if you’re lucky. Better than anywhere else in Maun!!!
