Old-fashioned campsite in need of a facelift. The poorly maintained parking area for our van is deep sand, 4x4 recommended. 400met/person per night.

Report Check-In

Very run down and the drive in very sandy. It looks nice, toilets and showers are good but overall it needs tlc

Report Check-In

The place works with camping, collective rooms and individual rooms (with or without internal bathroom).
Very nice place with individual chalets, in front of the sea. Unfortunately, they do not take advantage of being in front of the beach, maintaining a fence that close the view of the beach.
Very Good prices, dorms at 600, room without bathroom at 1000, chalets with bathroom at 1500. and they make great discounts if you're staying many nights.
very clean room, very friendly staff, hot shower.
Undoubtedly was the best value for money of my 20 days in Mozambique.

Report Check-In

Nice, but very sandy campsite. It is in a different part than the hostel, so no hostel guests will be close to your car. Ablutions are fine, shower is great with good pressure and warm water. Quite a bit of music at night from a nearby bar.

Hostel offers food en drinks, all well priced.Close to the beach.

We paid 400 met pppn.

Report Check-In

Recommended , as it’s well located with bar /restaurant right by the beautiful beach, 1 minute walk from the campsite. And cheap at 400mt pp (as we stayed 3 nights. ). And staff is friendly (salomao). Kitchen area a bit old but with 2 electricity plugs and fridge. You need 4x4 inside the campsite because of difficult sand. Bar plays loud music in the day and very loud in the evening. Wifi at the bar is very slow. Many people walk through the campsite all day or come to sell stuff , don’t leave any of yr stuff around kitchen. No toilet paper, soap, trash bags .

Report Check-In

there are better options in town. rather run down and expensive for what you get. abolution block is mediocre. mosquitoes visit frequently due to swamp next door. although in high season this might be a good place to stay.

Report Check-In

Plus:
- The location of the backpackers, right at the beach
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Hot water showers

Minus:
- The ablutions block and kitchen is a bit outdated.

But overall a fine place to go camping in Tofo.

Report Check-In

Sam, the manager is the sunshine on this place with good music in his restaurant.
Due to covid nearly no business the last 2 years. But the showers are hot, the beer is cold, the coffee is the best in tofo and the view from the restaurant is great.

Report Check-In

Offered different prices:
1-2 nights 500Mtpp
3-4 nights 400Mtpp
5+ nights 300Mtpp

Internet so slow its not really usable

Also people selling things just walk in the Campsite. Had two people waiting by my car when I returned from the toilet at 630am wanting to sell fruit. Feels quite invasive..

Very nice staff though but not much else going for it.

Report Check-In

We spend one week here. It's a nice place. Everything a bit old but still working fine. We have been the only guests but still lots of friendly stuff around and we got everything we needed! The campsite is on sand and there are a few trees to get some shade. The place is well located. Close to the market and lots of restaurants.

Report Check-In

Campsite is just a sandy place without "charme" but for 2 nights it was fine (and cheap: 300 mts pppn). The location is great - right at the beach, near to the restaurants and market and great view from the deck of the restaurant. Must have been a beautiful place one day!

Report Check-In

Low season, we‘re the only one, 600met ppn, if you stay one night only, 500met ppn if you stay two nights, restaurant/bar directly on the beach, from the campsite you don’t see the ocean, ablutions could need a renovation

Report Check-In

We stayed more tha a week here at Fatima's Nest and enjoyed very much. Friendly and helpful staff organised freh coconuts, fishermen brought fresh fish, calamari, mussels and crayfish. Basic veggies at the market inside the village, much better choice at Yum Yum supermarket on the road from Inhambane and marked at iOverlander.

Report Check-In

We stayed here for one night and we enjoyed it. The ablutions were clean. The restaurant has a nice vibe and a great view of the sea. The camping area does not have any views of the sea but if you want to be near Tofo beach this is a good solution - you just have to make peace with the fact that when you are at the actual campsite you won’t see much but you are very close to everything Tofo has to offer. They also have Casitas with sea view but I did not see how they looked inside.

Report Check-In

We don’t recommend this place. Worst ablutions we have had. Price was 400 and 300 if we stayed 2 nights for camping but it said 600 on the board.

Report Check-In

We enjoyed our time at Fatima’s. Great location, nice bar area and camping on the sand. Nice showers, WiFi worked for us and area to cook in.

Report Check-In

We stayed at Fatima’s for a few days but moved to the Sundance hostel (actually a lot of days, but we were too lazy to move at first). We did not really like it at Fatima’s. Toilets and showers weren’t great - lights go on very late, toilet seats are loose, never any toilet paper, shower drains are blocked. There is only a fridge in the kitchen (no stove or utensils). At night it was sometimes noisy (not everyday), because of loud music close by. And there were also a lot of strangers (who weren’t camping) that used the ablutions - and probably took away the TP. Of the 10 days we were there, WiFi worked only on first 2. No effort was made to fix it. Bar and restaurant area is nice and food was actually good and affordable. Would recommend staying at Sundance, not here.

Report Check-In

Great place, relaxed vibe, staff are very helpful and friendly. Facilities are old but kept spotlessly clean and everything works.

The camping is on sand and to get a car close to the ablutions you do need 4wd but 2wd can camp further away and in that area there is some grass for tents as well. The day guards are old and do sleep sometimes but no strangers come through camp and with some sensible precautions it is perfectly safe

Report Check-In

I don’t really have a lot of good things to say about this place. Camping is not a camping but a piece of sand, security is not security but two men sleeping all day, WiFi is very slow, ablutions need renovation, staff indifferent, sometimes loud music.

On a positive note ... hmmm ... nice terrace to have a beer. Showers have hot water for about 10 minutes, just enough to shower.

2WD will get stuck in the deep sand.

Price 600 (absolutely overpriced), 300 pppn if you stay 4 nights or longer. Wouldn’t recommend this place, but lack of other options made me stay here 5 nights.

Report Check-In

Still as described by others, we stayed for a week because we enjoyed it so much. Best camping option in Tofu.

Report Check-In

We stayed 2 weeks at Fatimas, because we loved Tofo.
The campsite is not much, (we never had hot showers) but the fibe is good! You will meet lots of other travelers and spend the most of your time around the beach.
The staff is friendly.
They ask 600 MZT pppn, when you stay 4 night or longer the price is 300 MZT pppn.

Report Check-In

Spent four nights camping. Great people and good vibe. Price is now 600 MZT pppn, but got a 10% discount on the stay.
The camping area was guarded by an old man mostly sleeping, but no one bothered our stuff. Kept our valuables in the kitchen lockers. Kitchen doesn't have any accessories, but the stove worked fine. The internet works good during day and night, but it's not the fastest connection. The common areas are clean and held clean. Often lacking soap and toilet paper, and the staff isn't always doing the little extras to make your stay more enjoyable.

We did the sailing trip to Pig Island, a nice little daytour with some snorkeling and a very big and filling lunch with the island Cheif. Paid 3800 MZT for the tour.

We later learned that the hostel one street below charges 600 pppn for dorm room, and they also had very clean facilities.

Anyway, we enjoyed our stay and met many interesting travelers.
Pro tip: Try the delicious wok at the wok-place in the town market!

Report Check-In

Very simple camping on sand, just a few tree around for shadow. Kitchen is totally empty and without gas. Price increased to 400 pp if you stay 2 nights. Only better discounts from 4 nights staying. If you stay 1 night the price is 500 pp. Fast Wi-Fi in the night, beer price 80 MT for 550ml. For diving go to Peri Peri, nice place, you will meet the owner Steve he is always around. He gives a 15% discount if stay at Fatima's and you can pay by card without extra charge like the other diving school which is more commercial we think. Diving price is at normal rate 3200 MT.

Report Check-In

not much to add, the price goes down the longer you stay.

Report Check-In

Very nice place and very quiet, at night too. No noise from the bar. the restaurant is not breathtaking, but good. Ablutionblock is ok with hot showers. There is a kitchen to use but no hot water to do the dishes. Wifi is not working during the day and in the evening it works but very very slow. We had a electric plug in at the tree behind us. it's the only one. The beach is wonderful, you can´t see it from the campsite, but from the restaurant/bar, and it´s only a few steps to the sea. We first booked for 2 nights and payed 300 pppn, after that we booked 2 nights more ( 300pppn) and today we booked again 2 nights more and they charged us again 300 pppn, so i can not confirm the preceding comments.

Report Check-In

The normal price is 500 metical pppn. If you plan in staying 2 or more nights they have a special offer of 300 Metical pppn, but to get the offer you have to pay for your entire stay when arriving. If you pay for 3 nights and want to extend afterwards, they will charge you 500 for the extra night as you didn't plan ahead. Total nonsense...

Fatmas guests get a good discount at Tofo dive center, a very professional dive center. 2200 metical for a one tank dive / 2200 for an ocean safari / 19000 for open water certification.

Report Check-In

Large sandy terrain used as campground behind hostel. Campsite is very quiet, no noise from hostel or the bar. But looks like staff lives on the campsite as well. Sites only have light, no power point or water. Kitchen, bar/restaurant with ocean view. Free Wi-Fi at night. Ablutions ok, hot water unreliable. Mt 500 pp, discount if you stay 5 or 7 nights or when you dive with Tofo Scuba.

Report Check-In

Sandy terrain with trees next to lodge. Next to the sea, but sea not visible from the campsite.
Fee MZN 300 p.p. low season, MZN 500 p.p. high season.

Report Check-In

Famous backpackers spot right on the beach with a nice bar with free wifi. Camping site is less ideal.

Report Check-In

Camping on sand with no view to the beach. Ok toilet and shower block with hot water. Kitchen area where you can cook your own food. Restaurant and bar with view over the beach. They have two night guards, but we do not really know if they will help you is something happened. One night, at midnight, we were woken up by a girl screaming, sounded like she was closed to getting raped just outside the fence to Fatima’s. Espen and Marius got dressed and jumped out of the rooftop tents and run over to help. When they got closer they saw that she was being taken care of by some other travellers, apparently she had been robbed. One security guard got to the entrance and stayed there looking as Espen and Marius was on their way back in, and the other night guard stayed behind the fence in the campsite just watching. So if something would happen to us at Fatima’s we do not really know if they would help us. We left the next day.

500 Mtc (think we were there the last weekend of high season during the South African school holidays)
