Description

Really nice location with view over the sea. We thought it was quite expensive, but we arrived a bit late and was just staying one night. Should be really good snorkeling just off the beach, but the sea was rough when we were there and it rained. 720 Mtc (four people sharing a site). All prices was listed in rand and in low season camping was 90 rand per person (high season 110 rand) and 90 rand for the most basic campsite up to 240 rand for the most expensive site with private toilet and shower block and power (cannot remember what you have to pay for the site in high season).

To get here you have to manage 4km of deep sand. Follow their signs going right at the filling station, otherwise it is 12km deep sand. We got Stuck on the uphill station and only deflating to 1 bar made us get there. When you leave you can turn left where the first descent starts, going steep down. We had a beautiful pitch with our own ablutions for 1000M per night. The locals selling seafood, fruit, bread,.. were very nice and didn't bother us at all. We paid 1,200.-M for 4 lobster.

we loved it and stayed 3 nights.
we were out of season so totally alone. the manager (Jaime/±258842444300) gave us a very good price : 95 rands pppn or 300Mt pppn for a campsite with private ablutions (hot water with electricity so very hot), sink, light, brai, kitchenet, electricity, water tap, huge hut (10*5 meters) with table, shadow with coconut trees and wonderful sea view !
reef for snorkelling, beach safe to walk, safe to swim. upstairs from the campsite to access to the beach so very easy. perfect place to relax.
cash only.
bring everything because the village is at 4 kilometers and the sellers said us crazy prices : 25 for a bread instead of 7, crayfish 1000 insteaf of 350... so we didnt buy anything to them :-(
open all around the year, there is a security man and the manager can be called by phone.
be careful : it is full of south african tourists in December, Easter and July/August so may be dont come in this time ;-)

Our second time here at Paindane.
Weather was great as well as the snorkeling on the reef.
Snorkel at low tide and be careful of the current when the tide is pushing.
We enjoyed our stay.
Great place

Report Check-In

Nice position but in need of a little maintenance. It has a nice view over the reef an a nice cool breeze at night. Paid R175 pppn over Easter weekend. At most two campers over the whole weekend.

Report Check-In

When we arrived it gave the impression of being closed but they are definitely open. We were the only ones staying and paid 1600mts per night for 2 persons and a vehicle. for that we had a campsite directly over the beach, hot water shower, private kitchen and bathroom, shade and electric. The beach allows for very safe swimming the reef allows for wonderful snorkeling. It's not far as previously described u can walk on it at low tide no further than 200 meters away. if that's to far for some to walk you can drive onto the beach. only thing abthis site which we haven't experienced else where so far in our travels is we were inundated with callers at our pitch trying to sell their products. but we'll worth the drive down the sandy track. we stayed 3 nights in the end

Great camping pitches with fantastic views of the sea, large cassita with toilet/ shower and a kitchen area with sink/ worktop and dining table. Water is drinkable. Louise is lovely and very accommodating. Beach is great, although the snorkelling is either a long walk down the beach, or a long swim out to the reef so not suitable for kids. We paid 1365 mtz for 2 adults and 2 kids but it was low season.

Stay on the dirt road to the village then follow the signs. Its a fairly easy sand road, you need 4 x4 , it can be done on inflated tyres but make your life easier by deflating your tires after you leave the village

Report Check-In

A very nice place atop of a dune with sea views and a nice breeze to keep cool and bugs off. Am staying at one of the ocean front sites which has it's own ablutions and a kitchen sink and work area and then a large area 30'x20' all under a roof for shade with a table. Shower has hot water with good pressure. It is all sand and I have a

RTT and parking is partially under shade.
The new owners live on site and are very accomadating , friendly and are going to spruce up the place and make some improvements. We paid R250 pn , they gave us a brake as it's off season and the restaurant is closed, I think. Only have to walk down the dune and you are on the beach which is beautiful with a huge reef and at low tide you can swim and snorkel and walk on the reef, and the fisherman have plenty to sell you. Stayed longer than planned. Need a 4x4 , thick sand. Don't use Maps.me to get here like I did, unless you're looking for a mini adventure.

85 R pppn plus 50 R per site pn. Nice place, drive there is deep sand so reduce tyre pressure. Close to the beach and some have beach view. Private bathroom and dishwashing sink. Shaded seating under a big roof. Hot water. Nice reef and good swimming in the lagoon at the beach at low tide. Only draw back is that too many people come and want to sell stuff.

We stayed one night. They gave us a cheap rate because there was no water, they were overhauling their pump. You really need 4wd, and deflate your tyres. Site with private ablutions. Good views of the beach.

Report Check-In

We were there during the low season (the only guests). We paid 85 ZAR pp + 85 for the car.
The view is really nice but you definitely need a 4x4 to get there. Ablution are fine but could be a bit better ....

Report Check-In

Friendly owner and camp (on) above beach with sea view. Own ablutions and shelter with hot shower and electricity. Friendly fisherman come past to sell fresh seafood

Report Check-In

Sandy campsites for which you def need 4x4, access road was easier than we had anticipated (we took the turnoff at Guiúa, the more direct route was not signposted). Great view and good access to the beach (good snorkeling, clean water). Quite windy which helped to keep the mosquitoes away. A few people trying to sell sth at the campsite (mainly fish) but most of the time we were left alone. 95R pppn + 100-200 per site (depending on private ablutions etc) but you can negotiate :-) - we were the only campers for our stay

Report Check-In

We really liked it here, visited 10th Jan when South African tribes had all gone home, big place lots of space can accommodate easily 300 people, we were only people staying for our 4 days. Bar/restaurant closed in low season.
We easily negotiated to not pay the site fee (375 per day).
Campsites are atop sand dunes with sea views and breezes.
We paid 375 per person and chose a site with own kitchen and bathroom. All sites have barracas for shade.
NOTE. - long deep and steep Sandy tracks, must have 4x4 and low tyre pressures, also some low trees so could be tricky for high vehicles.
Phone signal but NOT 3G
Fantastic snorkelling just off the beach at low tide.
Lots of guys to sell you fresh fish etc ! We paid 250metz per kilo for fish (they cleaned) .
Very good place we stayed longer than planned and could easily have stayed longer! Well worth the effort of the drive.
