Something not right?

Description

13 km north west of Nampula in a nice landscape with some fascinating rock formations. The Complexo also has an orange orchard and a restaurant. There is a small dam/lake and the campsite is located next to it. Toilet and shower block was ok and it had hot water. 300 Mtc

Latest Check-Ins

All as described before, still 300 pppn. Ablutions not really clean, but ok. We have been here all alone on a Thursday day and night in April. Super tranquil place. Wonderful setting, garden very well kept. Just a few lights turned on for our convenience, not excessive. On some of the (lamp) posts, there are power sockets. We could recharge our batteries. Plenty of water taps on the green to refill tank.

We stayed here twice on our way out and back and found it makes a quite good campsite, being in Mozambique. The first time, there was a lot of party-picknicking going on, but the picknickers have to leave at 6 pm, and then it is really quiet, owls and other night sounds, and foggy sunrise in the morning. Would be even better without the strong lights they switch on at night.
Water was working both times, the separate bathroom for campers was very clean, showers were cold, we also filled up our water tank here.
300 MT ppn, with receipt!

Report Check-In

We camped here but unfortunately the ablution is not in good shape. It is invaded by ants. In the evening and morning there was no water and nobody to turn to who could possibly solve the problem. So also no shower and even toilets couldn’t be flushed. Area is beautiful but as campsite it fails. It was quiet but it was a weekday. We paid mtz 300 pppn. Not the first choice if you want to camp and certainly not for more then a day.

Report Check-In

All comments re camping and cost are correct. If possible do not camp here on the weekend, the day picnickers party hard and toilets don’t cope. The last party crowd left around 9pm on Sunday night

As stated previously this is more a park for day visitors. It will be fine if you have a ground tent but it’s not ideal for roof top tents on vehicles or trailers as you cannot drive on the grass. We found a level spot to put up our rooftop tent on our trailer on the road but we have to leave by 7am as there are people coming tomorrow for some event. Ablutions are okay. No kitchen/wash up facilities and no power. 300Mts pppn

Beautiful property. A few "parking" places for camping in the picnic area overlooking the dam with crocodiles. 300Mt per person. The locals picnic on weekends but it is very quiet in the week. Enough hot water for 2 showers at a time. Camper's ablutions are seperate from the day visitors. Camp attendants are always around to assist.

Nice place in a beautiful area, still 300pppn. However, we had the same feeling twomonkeys.in had. There aren’t really designated campsites, it’s more like a park area. Restaurant is good but expensive.

Great place for 300mtc.
Toilets and showers are clean. No hot water when we were there. Owner speaks a little bit English and let me fix something in his poor maintained workshop.
Great dam and rock formation!
Watch out for crocodiles.

Nice campground with lots of grass and shade but with the truck we had to stand on the sand next to the ablution. No electricity but water faucets are located all over. Ablutions were clean but old and there were not much hot water. 600 Mets for 2 people.

Camping 300pppn.
Arrived on a Sunday and it was very busy and loud with Mozambicans. Lots of loud music and rubbish left around although eventually everyone left and we were the only ones camping.

Nice view and location but the restaurant and ablutions are run down.

Very well maintained camping in a park on a lake with crocodiles. Oasis of green. Lots of shade. Hot shower.

The price is still 300 Meticais per person. The property looks well maintained with big lawns and hundreds of trees next to beautiful damn in front of huge monolith rock. It however wasn't clear where the actual camping sites is as you are not allowed to go onto the lawns with a vehicle. In the end we just parked in a side road. See photos.
