Camping is no longer allowed. We drove a long way and asked him twice and said no, no more camping. There are at least 6 houses being built on the beach

Report Check-In

We did not find access to this place - maybe it was closed or repurposed since the last check-in.
We stayed at the beach of the Oloha Beach lodge on the other side of the bridge instead (signposted).

Report Check-In

We paid 500 met pppn, breakfast included - delicious mango, buns and coffee. Camping as previously described.

Report Check-In

Entrance is right by bridge and very busy with people but once inside camping area it is pretty peaceful. Staff were super helpful. As mentioned if you ask they switch on a pump for showers. We were sitting under the baraca in the morning when breakfast just arrived, a fried egg and roll plus water for coffee. First time ever that we have had breakfast served while camping, a nice little treat. Bathrooms are basic but very clean.

We paid 1000mt for 2 people for camping and other people who stayed here 2 days before paid 600mt for 2 people. No mention of a breakfast. Most expensive we paid in Mozambique so far and for very little. Unfortunately it is the only camping around in the area. We did not use electricity but i did see a plug point. Had a peaceful night. They switch the water on for a shower in the evening or you can have a bucket wash. The people were friendly enough.

500met to pitch your own tent on the beach, no facilities, no wifi, no restaurant, bucket shower, rude owner. Sorry but not worth it. Went to the island and found a dorm at "Casa de Luis" for the same price..

Wonderful place and very good kitchen ! The patrona cooks herself and it tastes amazing ! Ablutions need a little upgrade..

Report Check-In

Stunning location just by the ocean, 3km to Ilha over the bridge (you can easily take moto-taxis for ~30Mt, walk or cycle.
There are already plenty of descriptions of the place, quite accurate. I stayed 8 nights at 500 mt pppn, no discount offered. Staff were nice and I was allowed to use their kitchen.

Location is awesome... and thats it. No wifi, no restaurant anymore. Toilets are ok, bucket shower. Price was 10usd for 2 people on a tent. Is clean and the only option for camping in the area. Local restaurant in the lumbo village also fish market at night.

Nice camping in front of the beach. A bit windy part of the day. You can get cheap local food nearby. They charge usd 1000 per 2 person, camping with out car. Bucket shower, no kitchen. They say the restauras close and no wifi. But still the only place to camp close to the island. And the island really worth to came.

Report Check-In

Good place to camp while visiting Ilha de Moçambique. Right next to the bridge. They asked 400pppn, small breakfast included. Cheaper than anything o the island. We camped right on the beach inbetween palm trees, which was surprisingly relaxed and idyllic for a place in a town. Some people walked by on the beach and you hear the cars, but nothing really disturbed us. The dogs were a little bit annoying tho.

Only campsite near Ile de Mozambique. Not great but not bad also. Campsites on the beach with small casita nearby. Ok for overland trucks. Has a restaurant and price 600mets per night breakfast included. Ablutions old and no running water during the day. They will turn on pump for shower at night but only cold water. Very friendly staff. Campsite across the island next to the bridge. Noisy but calms down after 10.

Report Check-In

Great campsite just before the bridge to Ihla. 350pppn including the car. Nice restaurant and very friendly staff. Cold bucket shower.

We walked to the bridge and took motorbikes across to the island. We paid 50pp but we didn't negotiate so maybe could be less.
The fort is 200pp and is well worth the visit.

Located on the mainland just next to the bridge out to Ilha de Mozambique. In Tracks for Africa it says this place is a filthy mess, but it must have got new management or they have changed their style. It was a nice and clean place. It is on the beach looking out to the island and there were plenty of people walking by, but they never approached us or tried to sell us anything. Toilet and shower block was ok and you could get power if you asked for it. WIFI in the restaurant and they have fire every night.

700 Mtc (200 per person and 300 for a vehicle)
