Latest Check-Ins

We parked our truck next to the hotel with a great view over the valley. Delicious breakfast is available for $5. The staff is very friendly and helpful. A hike with Joseph (+255 764 495 226) is highly recommended. We learned a lot from him about the flora and fauna in the Usambara Mountains. Joseph is a likeable guy who speaks English very well. We had lots of fun.
For Camping is still 5 und ppn.

Several places to choose to park your car for the night, still 5USD pppn. Nice views from the terraces and some parking slots. Hot shower and clean toilets.
Lovely track coming here from Lushoto. Small village Irente is close by i.e. to get to know some locals or watch a football game.

There are also a sign enroute that says Irenta Cliffs. Allowed to park adjacent to the main building with a wonderful view out to the valley. At here is also a large grassy camping area which has plenty and privacy if desired and also shelter with water tap. Access to a hot shower and flush toilet in an adjacent building not in the main building. For 2000 TZS it is a short walk out to the Irenta viewpoint for beautiful sunset weather permitting. cost to park/camp is $5 USD which is more than fair
Considering the hot shower and view. Note that the camping is on pavement and there will be many people coming to the viewpoint that will
Share your space. There is a restaurant on the premises which I did not use. Good cell
Service. The drive into the place is interesting as well. The location is not in T4A

Great place to stay for hiking to the viewpoints and village.
Ask for Josef as your tourguide, we learned a lot, had fun and visited the best places around. Josef found a chameleon for us to take on the hand. He do also 1-5 day hikingtours through the usambara mountains.

We slept at Irente Farm for 15000TSH. And we had breakfast at at Irente view lodge. Only 5$ pp. huge breakfast. Fruit, yoghurt , toast, bitter, jam, potato, omelette, coffee, tea, juice, vetkoek, ginger tea. Viennas, veggies. We also went to the viewpoint. A beautifull sighting for only 3000TSH p.p.. place was very clean and neat.

Nice camping spot even a shed with bbq and water point. The view from here is awesome. Couldn't get better!

Report Check-In

The view is indeed amazing but to camp on a concrete parking lot next to a fancy lodge is not that appealing to me. They are also doing construction and renovations so lots of workers around. Some small shops next door sell the bare basics.

Report Check-In

Camped in the parking lot with stunning view, it is definitely worth spending one night here For the view . Still USD5pp. We got power from the area below were they do laundry/ there are some old machines but you need a 30m cable.

We passed two quiet nights in our RTT. Maybe because we were the only clients, they gave us the choice to camp in the grassy area (no view) or in the parking area (stunning view). We chose the view. Ablutions with hot shower and flush toilet. Nice staff. Wifi at restaurant didn't work. $5pp.

Report Check-In

Camping is 11.000 pp or 5usd.

Restaurant has wifi that sort of worked.

We could choose from two spots: the (full) parking lot in the back overlooking Mombo or the (empty) parking lot in front of the terrace overlooking the valley. Both spots are decent and the place is quiet.

Toilets at the restaurant were clean.

nice large grassy terrasse with thatchroofshelter and a water tap. hot shower. 5$pp. it seems they dont use the parking for camping anymore, therefore no great view from the tent anymore. good value for money. calm and various walking options with view points.

Report Check-In

Great place right on the cliff edge with a stunning view. They have recently added a paved area at the back of the hotel, which still enjoys a great view, but is much quieter. We camped with our rooftop tent there and had no problem with people passing. There is a serviceable and clean ablution block adjacent. It looked like they also have a grass area for ground tents. We took a guided walk around some of the viewpoints and through the village to the farm shop which is very much recommended. Camping was 5USD per person.

Amazing hike with our guide Josep Chamaleon. We visited local villages, went to Kisasa Waterfall and saw amazing views on our 8h hike!

Great view but not suitable for camping. Bettet choice Irente Farm 2 km away. (turn right at the junction)

No change to the previous description, great views.

They let us camp on their parking lot in front of the hotel almost on the cliff edge with amazing views over the landscape below. For toilet they let us use the one in the reception and I think there was a small shower/toilet block for campers in the back outside the hotel too. No power or water. Restaurant in the hotel, but we did not try it. Great spot to camp, but it was not a place where I could relax. We camped just in front of the entrance of the hotel and to be honest I do not understand why they let us camp there. When we were there it was a conference there with politicians from the state and for them, and other guest, to take in the view they had to walk around where we camped.
