Description

*Closed - undergoing renovation.
.....
Consular services now round the back of Hotel du Port, about 1km away.
We went to the consulate in Pointe Noire to try to apply for a transit visa for Cabinda so we would not use up our tourist visa. They were not unhelpful but told us that you are only allowed to have one active visa at a time. However, another traveller who got his tourist visa together with us in Accra was able to get a transit visa here just two weeks before. We also heard from other travellers who got a tourist visa issued here without invitation letters so if you do not want to go through the hassle of driving from Ghana to Angola in 2 months (visa validity) then Pointe Noire and Matadi would be your best bets.

the woman who accepts the papers will ask you for a bank statement and a plane ticket (even if you use your bicycle to travel), she will do everything possible to block you for obtaining the visa!
she insists that she will not accept my papers until i have paid 75,000 cfa to the congo bank, and i waited a week to collect my passport, in the end she said that your request had been refused, you must do it in your country, all the people that day were refused, I tried to explain that I am a traveler and in my country no Angolan embassy, but she laughed and she said " Come out, I'm not the manager here! "
be careful the costs are not reimbursed!
no respect for people here!
shame on them!

To date the worst experience I have had with an African embassy (and that is saying something!) Submitted the application on Thursday, we were told application could not be ‘accepted’ until we deposited the full application fee (75,000 CFA) but we would have to wait for them to call us first before we could go to the bank. No one called. When we tried contacting them no-one could give us any info re timescales, it all depended when the chief had time to look at our application. Finally the following Wednesday we went into embassy as our visa for Congo was about to expire. We were told they would call us at 15.30pm that afternoon, we could then deposit money and collect the visa. No one called, but we managed to get hold of them and deposit the money (this took well over an hour). When we got to embassy around 4.30 to collect the visas we were told they needed to be stamped and signed by the chief. We waited for around an hour and a half. Eventually told Chief was busy and to come back at 19.00, visas would be left with night guard. When we came back we were told the Chief had left, the were visas not ready and Embassy was closed the next day. After we made a huge scene chief was called. We then waited for a further hour, eventually the chief arrived with our visas, by this time it was gone 8pm (nearly 4 hours after we got to the embassy). Would probably go with the e - visa next time!

Spanish citizens.

As stated below. The same requirements! But we went directly to Credit Congo to pay 2000XAF before going to the consulate. And was a good option because the man at the entrance asked for the bank receipts.
We applied on Thursday and Olivia (the "woman" on the desk) called us on Monday afternoon.
We went on Tuesday to pick it up, but they made a mistake in Juancar's visa and gave him single entry (grr). We needed to wait until Friday to get the new multiple entry visa.

All same as stated by dimslar.
However, you can skip going to the embassy to get the bank details, as the number is: Credit du Congo 10127093002-65

Also the man at the table at the bank can fill out the whole form for you and he knows the bank details as well.

Also, instead of copying the bankreceipt at a cybercafe: just ask for 2 receipts at the bank.

At the embassy they need:
1) 1 passphoto
2) a hotelreservation
3) yellow fever certificate copy
4) a copy of your passport

We had to wait a full week incl. the weekend due to internet problems/failure. She did call.

PS. We added a photo of how the form at the bank should be filled out

Visa Applications only on Tuesday and Thursday from 09.30 to 13.00!
Still all the same requirements and 75.000 CFA per Visa. We also got 30 Days multiple Entry. It took 3 working Days. The Lady was the usual Embassy-Dragon but with some polite French it worked out well.
Process:
1) Go to Consulate and get requirements Sheet with Bank Account Details.
2) Go to Credit Congo (see iOverlander Location) and pay 2.000 CFA per Person.
3) Come back to Consulate with 2 Receipts per Person and all your other Paperwork. Fill Form (be careful, the French Translations are sometime incorrect). Leave Passports there.
4) Wait for the Lady to call. Go to Credit Congo again, pay the 75.000 CFA per Person.
5) Back to Consulate with 2 Receipts per Person again and pick up Passports with Visa.
We gave our Congo Phone Number and she called us.
They also accepted our Cover Letter (the usual Introduction but also a complete Itinerary for Angola). We had the Letter from previous Embassies and translated it in Portuguese with Google Translator. Thereby we saved 2.000 CFA per Person. If you want to use our Letter feel free to download it here: http://afrika-drimslar.de/visa/Cover-Letter-Angola-Visa.doc
As we stayed in Sueco (300 m away) we did not have to come by Car.

They insist you have a Congo phone number but then never bother to call. You are best to keep going in every morning to check progress. Ours took 4 working days. They won't keep your passport over the weekend. The lady on reception will do everything she can to be difficult.

Watch your car outside as we had people try to car-jack us, then stole our phones, and our friends had someone try and force their car door open. Park close to the gate and leave someone in the car with all doors locked.

Got a multi entry tourist visa here for 75k CFA, was ready the next day but can take up to several days to process. Needed to deposit 2000 CFA at a bank, copies of Congo visa, passport, vaccination card, hotel booking, motivation letter (they can write one for you for another 2000).

We got a 30 day multi entry Visa. Motomorgana helped us by translating because we speak no French or Portuguese. 3 day turnaround. Cost 75000 cfa per visa. You also have to pay 2000cfa for a cover letter which they prepare in about 30 min (no getting out of this, we wrote our own but they wouldn't accept it). Also a payment of 2000cfa which you have to go to a bank to pay (expect to queue a long time at the bank). You need 1 copy of your passport, Republic of Congo Visa, Yellow Fever vaccination, hotel booking. You also need a passport photo. You need to complete a form at the consulate so be sure to know dates, points of entry etc.

Easy, reasonably quick, friendly, but speaking french helps a lot. We got a 30 day dual entry visa no prob so we can cross Cabinda. All details on www.motomorgana.com/africa-visa

Officials at the consulate are unhelpful and a right piece of work. Managed to apply for a transit visa on Thursday and get the visa on Friday afternoon for 75,000cfa each. Visa is a 5 day transit valid for entry within one month. A guy with us had applied for a ordinary visa but after a week of waiting and getting no news other than to come back next week, canceled it and asked for a transit visa like us. Price for ordinary visa is also 75,000cfa but could take longer than a week. Not sure if visas are issued only on Friday or we just got lucky. Brush up on your French or Portuguese as they do not want to know you if you don't speak their language.
