Description

Bush camp at a lonely bay south of Ambriz. A beautiful beach at a bay that is mostly deserted.

Latest Check-Ins

Description as before is still valid (access road, rubbish, very weak Unitel signal, but otherwise beautiful)
The place is quite flat and there are a couple of braai places, which seem to be frequented (adding to the rubbish), so it is kind of an established picknick site
We stayed for two nights - didnt see anybody
BUT: the army seems to be using the bushland on the other side of the creek as a shooting range, apparently firing out to the sea. It felt uncomfortable, particularly as it continued when it was dark. We made ourselves heard … but nobody came round …

Report Check-In

Unfortunately neither lonely nor quiet for us. The night we arrived there were four guys at the beach, we presume poaching turtles. Walking along the beach we found 5 empty turtle shells, all recently killed, two even still had eggs in. We reported the matter.
The next morning, a bulldozer and three workers rolled in, flattening the ground and constructing barbecues. Also a lot of marine debris everywhere along the beach. We were planning to stay two nights but left after one. Too bad, as the landscape alone is truly beautiful. Borderline weak unitel 2g.

Really nice place. Sadly 3 empty turtleshells were laying next to out campingspot.
Take the road from Ambriz to get in and out. We tried to use the sandy road further ( 30km ) to Tabi. We had to turn around there was no coming through.

Indeed a beautiful spot! We drove a bit too far down the sandy road the first time. Just before the road makes turn (you see it on the map if you use maps.me) you see two roads and you take path going to the right. The last few meters before you reach the beach are a bit bumpy going down. Wouldn’t recommend this for a 2x4. Also the beach is very sandy, so better to stay with the car close to the palm trees. We got a bit stuck on the beach :).

Wauw!! What a beautiful place! Thanks for sharing. A wonderful bay with an amazing view on the coast. There is some rubbish, plastic from the sea but despite that the beach is nice. You can swim or walk or just relax. Nobody came. The sunset is great too. The last 8 kilometers is a small sandy road but not that difficult. We drove it with our 2x4 campervan so it's easy. I think it's a 5-star place.
