Entrance fee 20USD
Rhino walk 30USD
Camping 20USD
You will approach the rhinos to just some meters. In my opinion quite worth the money.
Camping with big clean abulution block, hot showers with plenty of water

Unfortunately no longer an option to come and camp and not do the rhino trek. So minimum of $70 total per person to enter, camp and do rhino trek. They were adamant about this!

Walking safari to see the rhinos, we spotted 8, really a great experience. The next morning, we went to find the shoebills with our guide and spotted 4 lovely birds. They were on our bucket list, and we were happy we could finally see them.

A great rhino sanctuary with huge success stories for the white rhino. The campsite is a large grassy paddock with a big central firebird. Lovely shower blocks with hot water. The rhino roam freely around and it is the campers that are behind a fence! One morning we had 20 rhino around the campsite. A fantastic experience! There is a nice restaurant and bar and WiFi available. We paid 20 USD entry pp, and 20 USD pppn camping.

Beautiful place and good fenced campground with all facilities you need. Rhino and baby slept next to the fence. If you're on a budget there's a high chance seeing rhinos around the campground (we saw like 5) without doing the tracking. But the tracking is also really nice!

we loved staying inside the sanctuary overnight. if you are lucky you see the rhinos from your tent at night or at the morning. the staff also made a huge campfire for us and there would also be a restaurant. its 20 usd pppn + the entrance fee (20 usd pp once). you also support this awesome project with you stay there. we loved it.

Superb camping. You must pay entry fee if $20 per person and $20pppn for camping. It seems expensive but when you see the conservation effort it's well worth the price. Tracking is extra. Amenities are spotless, hot hot water, kitchen, shelter for when it rains with benches etc, large space to set up camp. Facilities are really good. 4showers and 4 toilets in female block and cleaned daily. Wake up to rhino's just outside the fence and watch whilst drinking morning coffee. Peaceful. Superb

I don't fully agree with last comment. The campsite is not that simple as it has all facilities one may need for camping: hot showers, clean flush toilets, place for dishwashing, shelter for rain with tables, tree shade and a pleasant atmosphere with bushbucks and warthogs around. Excellent internet signal with MTN but not with Airtel.

Report Check-In

The campsite is quite basic, but flushing clean toilets and hot water. But the most amazing things is… the rhinos. About 3 out of 7 days they sleep next to the fence. And therefore next to you!
They also make a big big fire in the middle of the campsite every night.

You can do rhino tracking, shoebill / bird walks and night walks! We also rented one of their motor bikes to ride in the park.

The rhino walk is amazing.
So do the walk and stay in their camp :).

Salem is the manager, arrived there wanting to do shoebill and rhino tracking so I bargained to get camping at $10. Car entrance $20, rhino $35, shoebill $25. Nice food steak and coke 39k ugx. Amazing to wake up surrounded by Rhino. They are guarded 24/7 and now hv a total of 37 rhino's. Shoebill was a huge trek due to a new road being built nearby and blasting, so maybe try it somewhere else where its easier to see. Close up rhino trekking and great pics. Toilets and shower clean, hot water too. Electric power should be available at camp but whole area had a power cut. Airtel reception good. Loved it and stayed 3 nights

Very nice campsite - clean and with a hot shower. The place is fenced in to protect it from the Rhinos. The rhinos co me close to campsite to sleep. Wonderful rhino tracking and a very nice bird watching tour are offered. We can fully recommend the place. Thanks to the team!

Nice, big campsite and pretty clean ablutions (but only cold shower while we were there, warm water maybe only with solar but it was sunny?). $20/pppn, so on the expensive side, but the rhino tracking is SO worth it — go and do it! Rhino tracking is $30/pp, do it preferably in the morning, though afternoon is also possible. Entrance fee to the reserve is $20/pp.

NOTE On day we came, rhino tracking was not in operation, nor was campsite. Amuka Lodge was open. CHECK BEFORE COMING on +256 0771600812 (Angie)

Update: now it is 50 $ pp for the walk and still 10 $ to camp.
The walk is totally worth it, we saw 13 Rhinos and 3 babies. We got really close to a mum and her baby. Try to be a small group. We were only the two of us and the guide. We got closer than the other big groups.
For the camp: to have hot shower it takes 1hour, ask the restaurant to start up the fire. Also if you want to make a fire, they provide a lot of wood and start it for you. Very friendly staff.

Update : camping is only 10 US pp when you do the rhino tracking which is an additional 45 US pp
As when you check in they charge you 10 US pp + a deposit of 20US pp for the rhino tracking.
We only wanted to camp but it seems it is not an option as it would have been 30 US pppn!
A pity they do not inform you at the entry gate as it is a 8 km drive to the camp from the gate.
Needless to say we did stay .

Lovely fenced campsite with clean bathrooms and kitchen area for $10 per person. We were 2 and paid 75,000 UGS.

We arrived around 4 pm and decided to do the Rhino walk right away which we are so glad we did. The Sanctuary is so well organized and professional. The rangers are doing an impeccable job protecting the rhinos to slowly begin to repopulate them back into the national Parks.

We paid $45 per person for the Rhino Walk (which can be paid also by card), which is worth it and more as you get to get up close and personal with the Rhinos. When we went we had a group of 6 rhinos to ourselves. We got to follow them around and just observe them for over an hour, which was super special.

The $45 also goes into helping keep the Sanctuary open and when you see all they are doing to protect these rhinos, you will realise where your money is going.

Once we finished the walk our ranger Edward showed us to the campsite and got someone to bring us fire wood and light the donkey boiler for an lovely hot shower. In the morning we woke up to find another group of 3 rhinos around the campsite which was definitely an added bonus!

Good facilities. Did rhino tracking, high recommended! Paid $15 pppn for a simple room, worth the extra 5 over camping.

10 USD pppn, no entrance, but did the rhinowalk for 45 USD... the Camp has basic facilities, they did a campfire and also a fire for hot water, but didnt work properly, we had a cold but still a nice shower... we liked it a lot, was great to watch the birds all around.

We want to stay overnight, but they asked 10 $ popn for the camping AND an extra10$ pp entrance fee. So we left and find Kafu River Lodge close by.
