Nice basic camp on the shore of lake Baringo with many birds and hippos in front. 800ppn camping with good lounge area and wifi

price is still 800 per adult and 400 per children above 5. we negotiated to have our third child free (he's 6).

Lovely campsite on the lake. Can’t see lake from campsite but main dining area and bar area on the water. Clean ablutions with only cold water
Good birding spot
Great campsite with friendly staff. A good menu with burgers, pizzas, etc. boat rides for 3,000ksh/hour and a nature walk for 600. On one night there was some music from an event in town until the wee hours of the morning, but otherwise a lovely peaceful place. Has clean long-drop toilets and cold showers.

Report Check-InBeautiful place on the lake shore. Loads of birds including large wading ones, hippos come at night and vervet monkeys in the morning. Very peaceful and relaxed spot. Get up early and have a coffee while watching the sunrise over the lake.
Camping 800 ksh pppn. Big rig friendly confirmed.
Ignore the touts at the junction as you turn off, there is no need to stop for them even if they claim to work for the council.
Report Check-InLoved it here! Camping @ $8pppn, good clean toilet and shower blocks available. Yummy simple food available in the restaurant for reasonable rates and cold drinks. Be careful for Hippos at night!
Report Check-InWe like this place so much! Camping directly at the lakeshore. Crocodiles in front of us, Hippos around our truck every night. And so many kinds of birds! You are part of the nature! Abolutions basic but clean. WiFi works fast all the time.

Report Check-InNice campsite with lots of birdlife, we could hear the hippos but didn't see any. stayed midweek and it was very quiet.
Boat rides available for 3,000 and we went on a 2hr hike up the volcanic cliff's for 500pp.

Ask for the spot next to the bar, it has great views on the lake an hippos come to feed next to you. Very peaceful and quiet. Good ablutions though only cold showers. Food ok. The boat ride was lovely and our guide very knowledgable.

Report Check-InBeautiful camp on Lake Baringo. Friendly hornbills. Many different bird species from large fish eagle to small weavers. Had hippo in camp and crocodile in lake. Tepid showers. 800ksh pp. Samuel the manager friendly. Stayed 2 nights. WiFi ok when it worked, which it didn't much. Could run power to our Landy. Spend at least a day to enjoy the birds. Enjoyed watching 2 fish eagle and their youngster. Sunrise worth getting up for.

Report Check-InCamp for the bird watchers out there. Over 500 species identified here. Resident fish eagles right in front of camp. Walking and boating tours. Hippos roam through camp at night and crocs in the shallows. The original hotel was washed away a few years back due to flooding and so they have re-built. Restaurant and camp sites are 20m from the waters edge with lovely views.
