Place lays on the shore of the lake. Lots of options to camp between a view accommodation on site. Power is available near the shelter or at the accommodations. Pppn is 800kes. Kids are half price. In the evening the hippos walk nearby the campsite. The remark about passed glory days I cannot place. Cheap option in Naivasha.

Report Check-In

They also have flush toilets and hot showers! John is an amazing guide to Crescent Island. We did a walking safari there with him! Recommended!

This camp has seen and passed its glory days. If you don't fancy long drops, check the camps on either side.

it's a nice place at the lake. we saw many birds but no we saw no hippos. the restaurant was ok. wifi good even at the campspot far from the restaurant. western toilette just at restaurant area, others are pit toilettes. hot shower. paid 800 shilling pppn.

Report Check-In

Campsite on the lake with hippos. Good restaurant with pizzas. Hot water

Report Check-In

Big and scenic campsite. Hippo’s coming and going between the lake and campsite. Very nice. Food at the restaurant is OK. However, the restaurant and reception didn’t have any change over a course of 3 days. We ended up paying a little extra. Great spot for relaxing after hiking/biking in Hells Gate NP.

Great campsite on the lake!
We got here late and decided to sleep in a Banda (2000/p/p/n) 4 or 5 hippos right outside. Waking up to a sunrise over the lake. Fantastic.

The restaurant is also great !

Report Check-In

Scenic and quiet campspot directly at the lake. Lots of hippos at sunset and night. Staff will bring you by car from restaurant to fenced campside to pass them securely.

Report Check-In

Nice campsite direct on lake with hippos walking in front of you. Campsite fenced. Friendly staff. Good hot showers. Droptoilet dark and dirty. Very good bicycles available and close to Hells Gate NP.

Amazing place to be around nature and animals. The camping spot is just by the lake, the ablutions are pretty ok with hot shower and some flush toilets also. When we were there was everything very clean. They have also very nice bandas with comfortable beds and also fully equiped lodges, so its a place for all pockets. Also they have lodges up on the hill with astonishing views from the lake. There's a restaurant but no kitchen in the camping, but you will find some barbecues around and a shelter to cook and sinks to wash the dishes. We did amazing boat ride with captain Buldoza and guide John, that knows so much about the region (his phone is 0708803364) and we could see many hippos, birds and even eagles fishing. At night they did a bonfire and we just watched the sky full of stars. We really recommend this place, camping fees are less than the neighbor campings (700 pp) and the cottages can even accommodate families and big groups. Very friendly and professional staff. We just loved staying there! And very important, its just 5 km from Elsa Gate in Hells Gate, they rent bikes in prerry good condition (the ones in the park are very bad, and you are going to cicle a lot!) and bring them to you at the gate. its just 200 more per bike.

A lovely campsite, great lake view, lots of birds, colubus monkeys.
Electricity point is available only the common area which means we had to camp near it and not under the lovely trees.
Toilets and showers are no so good, so two days was enough for us.
700 pppn.

Report Check-In

Very big campsite with lots of birds, monkeys, cows (watch your step as they don't use the ablutions) and (at nighttime) hippos. Toilets pretty nasty, but hot showers available. Little run down restaurant with good food. Lake is pretty hidden by plants and reeds.

Great camping! Tip: go on a walking safari with John Ndirangu (+254 713 769 557) in Crater Lake Sanctuary. Go there by boat, walk to the crater lake in between giraffe, eland, zebra, warthog etcetera and have lunch at the crater lake and the return by car. John is biologist and knows a lot. One of the best travel experiences in 8 years! 60 USD pp, but worth every penny.

One of the best places on our journey from Ethiopia. The place has nice lakeviews, lots of birds, away from the crowded city. We think it’s a kind of project to give jobs to the locals.
It’s managed very well, everything is clean and there is a good restaurant. This place is a good starting point for several parks, for instance Hells Gate NP is 5km away. Can rent bikes for this.

Report Check-In

Really nice campsite on the edge of the lake. Good showers and very clean, main ablutions for campers are squat toilets, but western toilets near the bar. Hippos where in the camp at night, plus lost of monkeys including Colobus. Bar is very nice too with good selection of drinks and food and fast WiFi.

700pppn, good stop before visiting Hell's gate.

Now has WiFi—strong signal covering much of the campsite, but somewhat slow. Showers still hot and fine, but toilets could use some maintenance. 700sh/ppm

Green campsite with hot showers. Was not noisy. Many hippos to See in late afternoon. WiFi now available. Food at Restaurant tasty. 700 pppn.

Report Check-In

A beautiful, peaceful place, huge shady campground, and and a lovely restaurant with good food and cold beer. If only they had wifi, it would be perfect.
No noise issues as reported by a previous reviewer, there are even signs saying no loud music in the campground, and quiet after 11.

Report Check-In

Despite a beautiful location, we would not want to come back to this place. It was teeming with bus load upon bus load of school children of all ages and description, not to mention the crowds of corporate groups on bonding missions. Add to this volatile mix the blaring music playing from the Fish Eagle Camp next door and it was absolute chaos. No peace or quiet anywhere. We might have as well been in a city park during a rowdy concert. Worst of all is the fact that the restaurant made us wait close to 3 hours for our lunch by keeping on misleading us that the food was almost ready, every time we complained. This place is NOT recommended. We would not want to come here again. Such a pity really, because the location and scenery here is really pretty.

Report Check-In

A huge camp site with happy hippo's that visit regularly. Nice hot showers.

There's no wifi but they give you the password of the neighbor's 😂.

Price went up to 700 Ksh for camping.

Bikes can be rented for 600 Ksh. Beware that you need to pay 250 Ksh for entering with a bike at Hell's Gate NP.

Report Check-In

Camping (own camper) KSH700 pppn. A little steep given no wifi and showers a long way off. Nice bar/restaurant and tranquil lakeside location.
