Best camping spot in Nairobi and Karen. Here all our mechanical issues were sorted out too. The perfect spot to explore Nairobi, Karen and surrounds. Used Uber for transport. Easy and convenient. Facilities are good and we enjoyed one meal here. The owner Chris is a star.

Report Check-In

It is a fine place to store your vehicle or bike. We had our Landrover in storage for a few months and serviced in the meantime. The owners Chris and Diane helped out with laundry, gave some good travel advice, and kept the decent facilities in the premises in excellent shape. Later, I needed some spares that Chris purchased and dispatched to a far corner of Kenia. Thanks Chris.

Report Check-In

Quite possibly the most overrated Overlander camping site we've ever been in after many years of travel. Poor facilities in the site itself with deeply rutted ground and almost no shade making it difficult for ground tents. Zero toilet facilities for ladies who are required to go inside the house. 2 very basic showers only and only a dirty urinal for the men in the campground itself. Owner is unwelcoming and arrogant, uninterested in mixing with guests. Very disappointed in what's supposed to be a renowned place. Go elsewhere.

Report Check-In

Knowledgable and welcoming host. Stopping there is almost a must for overlanders in Nairobi.

Report Check-In

Updated rates as at July/August are 1500KS pp pn + 400KS per vehicle pn. So for 2 people campjng per night - 3400KS

Report Check-In

very warm welcome by Chris and his wife. perfect camp to meet fellow traveller, get any information you need and of course explore the city. Supermarkt in walking distance. We also got our washing done (machine!). We enjoyed our stay here. Quiet area, no traffic noise.

Report Check-In

A very disappointing stay. Staff extremely rude!
We wanted to do our laundry which came back wet, and when asked if they could dry it they rudely told us it was dry and shouted at us for asking.
The most awful pace we have ever stayed. Toilets blocked and showers dirty. Would definitely NOT recommend!

Report Check-In

Perfect place in Nairobi to restock, recharge and get all your admin and repairs done. Big grassy site with picnic benches, electricity and water. Great INDOOR (novelty when camping) bathrooms, cleaned several times a day and spotless. Beautiful garden, terrace and use of indoor room with dining table, games, TV, WiFi, sofas etc. laundry in a washing machine for 400 ksh per big bag. We also made use of Christoff's excellent workshop and knowledge and had some repairs done for a reasonable price. Also a great place to meet other overlanders and connect and swap tips and stories. Price now 1250 ksh pppn.

Report Check-In

Nice place but if there is a bus staying, you will wait to use toilets and showers (only 2 Westen toilets and 1 Asian). Price went up 1 Jan 2023 to KSh1250 per adult and KSh850 per child (up to age 15).

Report Check-In

as described, wonderful place, super comfortable and clean. nice benches with shade to hang out. Chris and his folks are super friendly and Chris has some very interesting stories and good advice. The place to be in Nairobi, if not Kenya. Price still 1000 KES pppn. Laundry available at 400 KES per load. Smaller vehicles can plug in at Campsite.
Highly recommend!

Report Check-In

Spent 1 night here and 2 at Karen Camp. Friendly owners good atmosphere overall but we prefered Karen Camp for tree shade and road noise. Here is a great option if you need to do laundry though: 400 KES per bundle washed in a real washing machine (can also be machine dried). Both our cellphones weren't able to connect into their wifi for whatever reason, tried many times without success. Paid 1000 KES ppn.

Report Check-In

We spent 25 days here, waiting for parts for our truck will come from Europe.
As a
was said, the best place in Nairobi for travelers.

Report Check-In

Stayed for 5 nights. Beautiful garden and grassy camping spot. Clean bathrooms and facilities. Had some repairs done at the workshop as well and were very happy with the service. The owner, Chris, iwas extremely helpful with whatever needs or questions we had. Place is easy to reach and if you come from the South you avoid a lot of the city traffic. Neighborhood is nice too with nice close by cafes.

Report Check-In

Decent campsite in a good area in Nairobi. Nice restaurant/Cafe within walking distance. Camp itself is a grassy field where several overlanding vehicles are stored and not scenic. Abblution are ok (electric shower). Paid 1000Kes ppn. Chris did a checkup of our car. Knowledgeable crew, and quick results. Good service and ok prices. Downside were the 2 old dogs that poo on the campsite field regularly.

Report Check-In

Nice place. I visit the place since years. You can trust Chris across-the-board. Very tasteful and affordable dinner at evening.

Report Check-In

We stayed here for one night. Price was 20USD for 2 people for camping. Campsite nice but basic and seems overpriced for what you get. I think until there are other decent options for overlanders in Nairobi, JJ will be able to charge whatever they like.

Report Check-In

We have been to Jungle Junction four times in 5 months. The site is very well maintained, the facilities for campers such as toilets and showers etc. are very clean.

Report Check-In

Well Covid hit us here! Thank goodness! Spent overall 7 months here, as we watched the world close down around us! Chris, Diana their children and family were wonderful. Good ablutions, hot water and flush toilets. Had a bit of work done on the trailer and truck by Chris and crew. Good storage for over landing vehicles. Meals will be available I am sure once tourists and travellers return. Central in Nairobi to visit the National Park and other tourist attractions. This is a must stay in Kenya

Report Check-In

As stated before, nice place to meet others and to catch up with laundry. No card facilities, cash only, but there is a ATM close by that charges no extra fees. Will come back to do service here

Report Check-In

We really liked the place. Good food at a really fair price. The lounge inside is great on rainy days. The WiFi is the best in Africa so far.
Chris is a helpful guy and runs his garage in a very professional way. For those who complain about workshop prices: Kenia is an expensive country and the jobs in the workshop are carried out by professional mechanics. We think it is definitely worth the money.
Camping 850 pp and 3 course dinner 850 pp.

Report Check-In

Large grassy flat field to park, lots of other cars are stored there so more like a grassy car park.
It’s nice and quiet at night, showers are hot, had a small kitchen and lounge space you can use Not bad for a city campsite...
KES 850pppn

Report Check-In

As described, good place to relax and meet other travelers. We passed two quiet nights in our RTT (850pp).

Report Check-In

Good place: ample space, fresh air (for Nairobi standards), clean ablutions, supermarket in walking distance, excellent and affordable workshop for maintenance and repairs, good laundry service and delicious barbecue on Fridays. Owner Chris is good company.

Report Check-In

great place to get many things done and have a good night sleep. Chris was able to do a safari check and some spring plates on my Volkswagen van as well as send out my cardik tank to be refilled and have a zipper replaced on a screen. the food was good and the beer was cold.

Report Check-In

Jungle Junction is an overlanders institution in Nairobi and it’s easy to see why. Chris and Diana are really great people who will go the extra yard to help you when you need it. The staff here are super friendly and the workshop crew are very talented. We stayed here on at least three occasions and were made most welcome each time.

Report Check-In

Excellent place to drop anchor. The place in Nairobi for Overlanders to rest, meet other travelers, service and repair battered vehicles and motor bikes. Near good supermarket, ATM. Facilities excellent.

Report Check-In

Second time we stay here. Good place to organise your visa, repair your car and plan your trip. Many overlanders come here so good to swap stories. Campsite itself isn’t special and looks more like a big grassy parking lot. Although there is power available on site. The facilities however are nice with great wifi, hot showers, clean toilets a relax area both inside and outside. Many services available such as laundry, dinner/lunch and breakfast, shuttles, car repair, storage, etc. Price is 850 Kes pppn.

Report Check-In

Nice traveller meeting point.
Now 850ksh ppn.

Report Check-In

Jungle Junction is a little factory that takes in tired, dirty, broken down Overlanders and sends them on the road again. Chris was a great help in arranging Comesa for us (about €85 total, incl Kenya insurance for 6 months and incl his fee of $30). Alex the driver took us into town to get our passport and carnet stamp after coming in from Lake Turkana (800ksh per hour). Not a lot of ablutions but very clean. One washing machine load is 400ksh. Still schnitzel on Thursday. Better than expected!

Report Check-In

best place in Nairobi for bikers and Overlanders.
Chris is cool guy, helpful and knows everything in kenya and technical questions

Report Check-In

We had a good stay with enough supporting services (workshop, taxi, car washing, laundry, restaurant, etc.) available from the establishment. Nice camping site with electricity. No water at campsite, but owner is developing campsite further. News Cafe and Hardy's Post is walking distance away. The only complaint is the dogs/packs of dogs in the surrounding area barking/fighting at night.

Report Check-In

Everything as stated below. Huge Garden with green Grass for Camping (between long term parked Cars). Laundry with real Washing Machine for 800 KSh per Machine. Liked the Place because it was relatively green and quite and we met a lot of other Overlanders there. Located on the Outskirts of Nairobi. Still 800 KSh pppn.

Report Check-In

camp site is basically a storage yard. kitchen is TINY but with everything you need. showers are warm-ish. apparently they do not want the showers to be too nice (warmer & better pressure) because they don't want to encourage people to use them (their words, not mine).
best part is the fact that there are many overlanders which is a nice change from the mostly empty campsites.
wifi is super fast!

Report Check-In

Very comfortable place! Finally a campingsite(Ksh.800,- pppn) with a kitchen again and a great lounge area.

We do agree with previous comment about the two showers and toilets only(the shower without bathtub is the only shower with good waterpressure).

Alot of overlanders around, nearby a bit of an expensive supermarket(but near the supermarket across the road of the ladies selling fabric(they hemmed a dress for us for Ksh.200,-), there's a cheap foodstall with good vegetables! We bought a couple of onions, garlic and quite a few tomatoes for €1.5,-).

We left our car here for Ksh.400,- pn whilst flying to Egypt for a week and afterwards we stayed longer than planned because the lounge area and WIFI were so good.

We also got our clothes washed for Ksh.400,- per load, which was alright since it was a looooong time ago we got our clothes properly washed.

Report Check-In

Nice place to camp. Cris is friendly and helpful workshop on the premises

Report Check-In

IMHO overrated. Campsite for vans is more a less a parking lot with not much too it but a power plug. When the place is busy two showers and two toilets are not enough. Good Schnitzel on Thursdays.

Report Check-In

OK place to stay. The facilities are clean, hot shower and there is even a (very small) kitchen you can use. The campsite itself feels more like a big parking lot, because you are camping at the place where people store their vehicles.
Also stayed at Wildebeast camp which we liked better.

Report Check-In

Clean bathrooms, nice grassy spot to camp. Stayed a few days. Chris is helpful. 800 ksh pppn.

Report Check-In

Great place to share stories with other overlanders.
Chris is a nice person but loves money too much and the workshop is expensive and not as good anymore as one would expect from other comments.

Report Check-In

Nothing much to do here other than have car repairs done but there's plenty of space for camping, a pleasant lounge and good wifi for office time, and it's close to a good shopping mall.

Report Check-In

Stayed here to get our Land River worked on. 5 nights. Chris the owner is great. The camp is not the best, but the people passing through... Overlanders on bikes, motor bikes and big rigs are fun to sit around and swap stories with.

Report Check-In

not very impressed to be honest. only two showers and two toilets for the whole place. owner seemingly only helpful if he thinks you'll spend a lot of money there. also there's a very old and ill dog that needs to be put down and is being left to suffer which was horrible to see. wouldn't go back

Report Check-In

Nothing to add to the other comments. Excellent place!

Report Check-In

Nice and big place on grass, clean ablutions, nice lounge, long-term parking, friendly staff

Report Check-In

Camp in a nice area out of town, 8$ pppn camping. Beers 2$ and cold.

Report Check-In

It's a very nice place to start into an African experience. Specially for newcomers there are many helpful things to know and Chris is the perfect man for all this.

Report Check-In

Great place in a very nice part of Nairobi, very quite with little noise from traffic, good workshop at decent rates, they have their own taxi, 800ksh pppn, nice lounge with tv, free fast wifi, lots of room for trucks (but not tour trucks), Chris the owner (nice guy), sorted out UK and SA gas bottles for us. Nice hot showers

Report Check-In

Great place to stay. Overlanders can rest a bit and enjoy the good atmosphere, nice living room with fire place, good company from fellow overlanders, workshop/garage, laundry service etc. etc.
very friendly owner and staff.

Report Check-In

Great and quiet place in The middle of Nairobi.

Report Check-In

Nice place with many overlanders. Clean ablutions, fast and free WiFi, possibility to work on your car. Good food, drinks from a fridge and grassy (although muddy in rain season) campsite.

Report Check-In

An amazing place to stay! Great price, safe, amazing facilities, good restaurant and excellent staff. It's a bit far from the center, but bus line 24 passes quite close.

Report Check-In

facilities good, staff friendly, food good. good place to gather yourself before moving on again.

Report Check-In

Campground itself basic, but nice terrace and good facilities, better than expected

Report Check-In
