Parking lot of the statues | Informal Campsite

We arrived late to this spot and there was a few cars there already, one person was walking their dog but then left and the other had a couple that stayed late into the night. All in all, an ok night. We always feel a bit more on edge when there are other vehicles that are not campers but it was fine. Motorway is quiet in the distance. Amazing view of the stars.

Stayed 2 nights. Okay spot, flat. The parking lot is Very small and directly next to the road. But no traffic at night, only from the main road further away, which after 5 sleepless nights in Arica, was good enough for us. No barking stray dogs, we slept well.
No facilities, loads of garbage. 3G with Movistar, no signal with Entel. Worth the drive out of the city, because even on weekdays in low season you will not get rest in Arica. Even the 1 camping that allows vehicles is horrible. There’s no respect for overlanders or people’s night rest in general.

We spend our Saturday night here and it was very quite. Good alternative not to sleep in Arica during the weekend.
The statues are beautiful and the stars are amazing during the night. No toilet and no bin.
Movistar 3G and no Entel.

We had a really quiet night. We arrived late in the evening and in the morning we visited the scuptures. good stop after crossing the border from Tacna

Quiet night, a few locals coming by, good for an evening after crossing into Chile or before crossing into Peru.
