Nice, little campsite in the woods. Great, hot shower with good pressure. Ablutions clean. We paid 35670 mkw for two persons (including tax). Lovely and friendly Bob the dog kept us company all evening, night and morning. Good stopover night on our way to Zambia through Lundazi border. Staff was friendly, too.

I did not stay. This is a cosy restaurant close to a lake, set in pine forest. The camp site is gloomy and chilly, right next to an ablution block (which is clean). There is no view of the lake. Suitable only for people who want to walk in the forest.

It’s a bit of a drive in here but you will be warm welcomed. This is the most expensive campsite we have stayed at so far in Malawi. They say $10 pppn but the exchange rate makes it 22.000MZN then they also include some sort of tax so we ended up paying 25.640KWZ for 1 night. The campground is not leveled and there is no power outlets, something that you’d expect for that price. There was a lot of workers rebuilding the dorm room which was noisy but I guess it will be nice once it’s finished. They do offer a lot of activities but since it was only a 1 night stop over for us we didn’t book any of that.

very nice and cozy atmosphere. Plenty things to do. Good kitchen too!

you can pay with card

Lovely camping spot in the woods. The camping facilities and dorm are starting too look very tired which is a shame because it’s easy to imagine how wonderful it must have been in its hayday. I hope it is restored one day to its former glory. That said, the showers are hot with great pressure, there is a big waterproof lapa if it rains and there is loads of activities to do. We went in the kayak on the dam, it takes 2 adults and 2 kids and cost $5 for as long on the water as we wanted. Also good walking in the area although a little overgrown due to Covid and lack of foot fall. They make and sell amazing bread if you ask for it. Camping costs $10 pppn, kids half price

Forest lodge with very friendly staff. Ablutions are clean and makes for a nice quiet simplistic camping experience. Water heated by wood fire.

Tranquil campsite in beautiful forest. Wonderful permaculture garden and gardens surrounding the lodge with all sorts of fruit trees. Signposted walks from the lodge. Shame we were a couple of weeks too early for the orchids in the valley..... Plenty of activities for kids. Ablutions a little rustic but plenty of hot water from donkey with good pressure. Enjoyed chatting with George about the forestry conservation area he is the guardian of and his plans for the Environmental Education Centre by the dam that is mid build.

Basic facilities in a very pretty and tranquil indigenous forest.Ablutions rustic but plenty hot water and free firewood. $10 per person. Lovely dam walks nearby

Camping USD 10.- & WiFi MWK 3‘000.- (only @ bar). No upgrades to abolutions vs. previous comments. Enjoyed the setting & the campground. Lovely staff & decent food. Just increasing prices w/o offering more doesn‘t seem right. Overall quite pricey.

We did not stay here, but stayed at the Plateau Stables which is nearby. Plateau Stables is not an established campsite, but the let you camp there if you go horseriding with them in the beautiful forest. You should be self-sufficient, as they have no facilities.

Sandy campsite with average /poor ablutions (but they were clean). No light in loo. Good hot shower. We hired mountain bikes which you have to do with a guide and so is expensive at $10 pp per hour. But our guide was great and we had a lovely morning out on the bikes. Note - contrary to other reviewers we had no 3G anywhere only E. didn't eat at restaurant as was expensive. Had some laundry done - also expensive and some clothes marked with bleach 😭.
If you like MTB bikes and you're nearby it's a good spot, but wouldn't go too far out our way to get there.

Nice and quiet but neglected campsite. Hot water from donkey in mornings and evenings. No electricity but they can charge your phone or laptop on request. Lights from about 6 to 9 pm. ablutions are old and in great need of renovation. Also not very clean though I have seen worse. The 2 dogs can be sweet but also very annoying as they knock everything and everyone over when they are fighting, which they do very often. Very friendly staff. Nice trails in the surroundings with signs, and directions and map on request. Dinner very expensive now: $6 for starters and deserts, $12 for mains. I didn't use it. Sheltered braai and sitting area. Very little space for overland cars. I could find only one place to put my car (landcruiser). $7 per night. Cottages looked great but haven't seen them on the inside. wifi costs 2000 mkw. There is 3g reception though.

Loads to do, free, well marked walking routes as well as activities you pay for.. Absailing, rock climbing, table tennis, mountain biking and guided walks. Definitely worth a visit!
