Not impressed. Yes, there is electricity, potable water and hot showers, and yes, we knew there is no WiFi here, but: women’s showers: 4 booth, none of them has a lock. Women’s toilets: 7 but 5 of them are pit toilets, only 2 are Western style and these don’t have seats. And of course no paper. Loud due to the traffic noise from the Rambla, and due to the fact that at 11:30 pm some people splinted fire wood. Shade due to lots of trees but not well suited for big rigs or high vehicles. No way to see the sunset from the camping area. And AFTER we had paid for the night, we were told that we could not go swimming here - the river bank is steep and stony, so we had to leave the camp site and walk up the road to go swimming. This is maybe the most overrated campsite on our journey so far. At least it wasn’t expensive - 200 UYU per camper and 90 per person per night.

Very nice campsite on the island. It was a rainy day it’s quite and beautiful. 380 for 2 person and 1 moto home. Recommend!

I saw some big rigs come across the bridge. Just be careful to pass and find stable spots inside(check, not many fit places for them). Toilet and shower is enough clean(oh, so hot hot shower). Lovely to watch sunset, good light for eating outside with tables. We are two with rooftop tent. The price costs 280$(80$ p/p and 120$ tent).

So beautiful campsite in the island with hot shower all the day, clean bathroom, bbq tables chairs everywhere, 15 mn on foot from the nice town, friendly staff… All of this for 340pesos 2p and a van Really better than the others campsites in Uruguay at more than 20$. Not for big cars because of the small bridge

The main camping area opens on 31.12 and has a toilet and shower block and some electricity hook ups. But camping is allowed elsewhere on the island for free, and you can walk in to use the toilets, though they close at 9pm. We preferred to camp in a bigger area than the official camping spot as it was more spacious and you still have grills and benches. Big rigs might struggle in the official camping but be fine elsewhere on the island- if you can cross the bridge...

Camp was flooded 2 months earlier and they were still tidying up. Went to Oark Maua instead which was very nice

I rode past but didn't stay.

This place is open and there were people camping there and three men manning the gate.

The island was above water when most other sites south between here and Playa la Agraciada were flooded.

There were no other buildings that appeared to be open and they looked a bit tired around the edges.

The concrete causeway bridge hasn't collapsed but it sags along the middle.

I went to Casa Quinta Hostel y Camping 3km south of Mercedes 200pesos per night camping. Not suitable for big rigs.

Report Check-In

This place is closed, possibly permanently, the bridge is over 100m long, zcompletely under water and looks like it may have collapsed.

Banos and showers are old,but very hot water, new electricity plugins around the campsite, stayed only 1 night with a campervan, grassy ground with bbq and concret tables, payed130.- peso, quiet and relaxed

Report Check-In

Open but very crowded. We didn't check the price.

We camped on a Saturday. So busy with local families with big music installations... Facilities so so. Not expensive.

The island is located in the middle of the river. Great for fishing and a stunning sunset but the camping area is not very spacious. Hot water in the evening (they have to heat it up by hand with wood). Sanitary facilities okay. Power plugs here and there. Some picnic benches. We paid about 160 Peso for 2 persons 2 motorcycles 1 tent 1 night.
