Description

Tent-camped here 3 nights with dog.
Not many people here so very quiet and property is very large with pine trees everywhere so plenty of shade. Beach is O.K. but need 4-wheel to drive directly at shore as very sandy. Better suite for ATVs due to surrounding sand dunes.
Owner nice. Somewhat pricey at 300 mxn/night considering only non-potable water. No electricity or wi-fi. Bathrooms/showers o.k. but run-down.
Located 1/2 mile off Mex. Hwy. 5, about 26 miles south of San Felipe, at Km. 32. Limited restaurants & store 2 miles south at Ejido Delicias (Km. 35). Best to buy everything incluiding gas in San Felipe before heading south.

Latest Check-Ins

We have a 19 foot trailer. At first the owner asked for 500 pesos. I got him down to 400. He told me there were showers and toilets for men and women. The showers were cold. The men’s toilet was closed with a 2x4 nailed across the door. I’m sorry we stayed there

This campground is one of the best in northern Baja. The Casaurina (ironwood) trees make the necessary shade, and the host, Javier, was a friendly guy. He charged $20/night, less than other established campgrounds nearby. It was completely silent at night, and the beach was clean. The showers were tank temperature, so we used our own. Bathrooms were clean and acceptable.

Beautiful spot. RV was 500 pecos or $25.00 a night. Very quiet.

Report Check-In

Did a 1-night stay in early Dec. Only ourselves and some friends present. Nice spot in the salt pines to avoid San Felipe and busy spots. Quiet, with good bathrooms. Spouse reported decent showers. Nice, unique sinks out by the camping aisles. Soft sand towards the beach, so not somewhere I would take our 4x4 van. Uniquely the campo is buttressed on each side by nice vacation homes (which seemed mostly unoccupied). I would recommend this site.

Only 2 other campers on a Friday night. $25 seems high for a very sketchy bathroom. Sites are nice amongst some trees right by the beach. 3G Telmex service at site. Cane here because Rancho Percebu was closed.

Maxatlan
I’m not as enchanted with this place as I was. In fact I’m satisfied that it is bad!
Thursday night we had the place to ourselves with one small family next door. Mui tranquilo. Then Friday the 10 car family arrived. They camped out front and used their 4x4 and quad to shuttle 50 people back and forth to the bathrooms past our camp. They turned the place into an OHV park. Another family showed up with 3 quads. We had vehicles cruising around the campground from 6AM til after dark. The owner doesn’t care. In fact he brought them firewood, and told me there would be some serious partying going on that night. They like loud music too. How can they hear each other speak over the music? They yell! The only thing worse, and more consistent is the over abundance of flys. We barbecued and had at least 100 flys around it. I killed over 120 with my matamosca over the 2 day stay. The flys are attracted to the soil mainly from the dumping of gray water. These are ranch grade flys. All this for US25/night?
We ran out of patience and moved over to Pete’s Camp. No flys! No loud music. Hot water showers. RV dump. Bar. Restaurant. Nice beach. US20/night

Nice easy access to the beach. Bathrooms are typical. Cold water only shower. Had the place to ourselves. Owner started asking 400, we negotiated down. Road in is hard packed sand. Probably a little tight to get in with a huge rig.

Report Check-In

Definitely a unique property with all the trees. Like others have said, bathrooms are rough. Beach is very sandy, so is some of the property. Be careful where you drive if you don't have 4wd. $20 per night seems expensive given the condition. Regretted staying there. Owner does the minimal amount of work to keep it going.

This place is VERY OPEN!! And very beautiful! Owner speaks great English. Trees are wonderful. We are on our way home and stopped- during COVID19- and we might just stay and extra day or two

Report Check-In

Guess this place is open after all? Guy just came to collect $200 pesos. Days when he’s not on property he turns off the cold showers and boards up the restrooms. Odd... There were four other campers last night and all was quite. Left our bag of trash at site per money collector instructions.

We’re not sure this place is open. We arrived some 4 hours ago and haven’t seen a sole. Bathrooms are boarded up. No trash cans anywhere. Water at campsite is available though so we’ve washed our van. Beautiful beach! . Very odd so far...

Report Check-In

As previously reported- toilets/showers were very rundown and it appeared no maintenance work had been done in a very long time.
We paid $20USD.

Super quiet , one other family here, caretakers gone , beautiful very long white sand beach with a sweet spot on the beach , however , it is lined with seemingly unoccupied houses down the entire beach. Showers not on while caretakers away for holiday but non-potable water at the site.. heard place is always chill with very few people .. Merry Christmas 😎☃️🏝
