Latest Check-Ins

The campsite at the entrance is basic with just 2 toilets, 2 taps and platforms with roofs. No running water or electricty, but lovely place with steps down the river were we swam.

Report Check-In

We had to pay the ranger but we climbed up and down alone as we did not arrange in advance and they were already patrolling in the mountains.

No hot water available.

10$pp for a night, 14$ night + day permit.

Report Check-In

As described. We were told that it was no longer possible to hike without a ranger/ guide. Orders from the head office he said. Cost: $5 pp.

Still here, as said a basic campsite but with the facilities you need: a braai, wood, watertap, flushtoilets and they also heated up the donkey for us. Although the water was quite brownish (rust of the donkey). Not expensive if you already go inside the park for hiking. So a good option if you want to start hiking the next day. Quite windy, which can make it chilly. Not really inviting to stay longer.

At the wrong location and duplicate of other entry.

Simple but nice campsite. Entrance to the park is at the campsite. Stunning view of the mountains. Not a lot of facilities, but great for an early day start. Hiking here is amazing. Hike up to the hut and then have a swim at paradise pool.

Starting point for many hikes, including to the hut, Skeleton Pass, Mt Binga and many others. We didn't stay here, just parked for the day for hiking. Spots are nice, in the trees, but ablutions are run down. No electricity. Hot showers on request (fire heated). Very nice staff. USD$10pp camping (I think). Can pay park entry fees here USD$10pp+$10 car fee per day. Cash only, bring exact change. Road from Chimanimani is bumpy but ok. Stunning area.

Small campsite in terraces with braais and some have a tap, not really much view from the sites itself but the start of a good hike up these beautiful mountains! 10USD for the car, 6USD for camping or the hut and 1USD for conservation fees, not cheap as all parks in Zim but definitely worth it! Warm showers afterwards!

Report Check-In

Nicely layed out, terraced area with shadow. Small for big rigs.
Ablution run down, hot water with donkey, but no shower head. Water very brown, firewood included. Very friendly rangers.
Camping 9$ pppn, entrance fee while camping 3$ pppn without camping 10$pp and 10$ for the car one-time.
Good hiking into the park. But most of the paths are overgrown and no game left.
You can use the mountain hut (2-3 hours above, also quite run down) for the same price.
Almost no connection with econet, maybe telefone.

Report Check-In

Not accessible for vehicles higher than 3.5m (unless you cut several branches). The trees start about 100m from the turn off at Outwars Bound School. Also, on the way there is a small bridge with a weight limit of 15 tons. I don't think the bridge can take more than 20 tons.

Terraced camp with plenty of shade, suitable for larger groups of 3or 4 cars or tents on each terrace. Can take big rigs but short track to terrace is steep and some low trees. Really helpful and friendly staff who made tea and biscuits after our long walk and gave a bouquet of flowers. Facilities a little tired but plenty of hot water, clean toilets and braai facilities. No thatched shade but dish washing facilities. Good access to mountain walking straight from campsite with nice views over valley from your pitch. USD 3 pppn for camp and 9 pppn for conservation fees plus one off USD10 for car. We loved it here and stayed 3 nights. Can get windy here but trees provide good shelter.
