Latest Check-Ins

Very friendly staff, lots of fire flies at night. We enjoyed it. As said before, its basic and the toilets and showers could use some new paint but that seems to be a standard to many places. My European brain might be the problem haha

Everything like said before. It is 8 US$ pPpN. A wonderful stop after crossing the boarder coming from Mozambic! The toilet and shower could be cleaned up!

Very nice camping spot. Large trees overhanging a grassy campsite, fire pits, hot showers on request, and wildlife all around. The host was extremely nice and built me a fire and got the wood fired hot water heater going. It was usd$8 for just myself for a single night of camping.

The water at the campsite is palatable and clear.

IMPORTANT: as others have said, take the further west entrance road (beginning at -20.424642, 32.690209), not the east one! The east one is probably passable by high clearance 4x4s, but somewhat technical and pretty overgrown. The west road is well traveled. I have put both roads in OpenStreetMaps, so you should see them in OSMAnd, Organic Maps, Maps.me, etc.

This place is amazing. Beautiful rain forest. Great walk from the camp to the Big Tree, Valley of Giants and back to camp.
Lush green grass and shade. Hot water in the showers. Wood for camp fire. Recommend minimum if 2 nights.
We drive the route from Chipinge. Bad road, mixture of tar and dirt and pot holes but well worth it. Very special place.
David the day time Caretaker very friendly, cheerful and does all he can to make you welcome.
Highly recommend.

Very nice quiet place in the forest. Special monkeys and large hornbills around. Running cold water, long drops, a donkey can be heated on request, firewood for braai provided. Very friendly staff. Many trees around bear numbers that are referenced on a leaflet or in the guide book (for sale 15 usd). We paid 8pP, our 5year old was free.
Only the road from Chipinge to the near place Chako is very bad. The 3km from tar to the campsite were fine.

nice place to camp. there are two routes to the camp. the one starting at -20.42168 : 32.68871 is easier to drive. narrow, through the forest with overhanging branches. we got through easily and are almost 3m high. they have borehole water.

What a lovely place, in the middle of the rain forest; absolutely quiet & great view of the stars. David, the guy who runs the place, did absolutely everything possible to be a great host; what a lovely guy! He lit me a fire & heated up the donkey in the mornings & evenings, brought me water in big jerry cans & lent me a book to discover the forest. Stayed for 2 nights because it was so relaxing. 31.- Zim$ pppn for camping + 16.-Zim$ for firewood (currently ca. 2+1 USD). I would highly recommend it & hope to be back!

Long drop toilet, hot shower, firewood provided for US$10 pppn. The road in has low hanging vines and branches, tall trucks could have a couple of problems.
