very nice place. came for 1 night ans stayed 4.
500 mt
access to the beach, nice restoran

Report Check-In

Its 600 pp for the sea view camps, off or in season doesnt matter. There is 6 sea view camps but in fact only 4 of them are close enough to the ocean so you better check out the campsites before paying if you dont want to be very disapointed. We were the only one there for 2 nights, it was very relaxing and peaceful, nobody bothered us. We had one night a very strong and annoying wind but usually the private lapa makes a very nice wind protection.
4x4 not required if you deflate your tires enough.
A very good spot to watch the humpback whales as it is high up in the dunes ! We saw at least 20 of them in 2 days, at the end of the season.
Loved that place.

Report Check-In

it is open. you have the choice between 6 sea view campsites (600 MT pppn high season/500 MT pppn low season) at the top of the dune or 10 no sea view campsites (500 MT pppn high season/400 MT pppn low season) at the bottom of the dune.
we chose sea view and it is really beautiful.we saw some whales ;-)
small hut with light, electricity, water tap with drinkable water (the waterhole is at 1 kilometer) and garbgage bins. no shadow.
communal ablutions block with very hot shower (electricity), clean flushing toilets, toilet paper.

long and quiet beach, safe to swim, safe to walk. nobody disturb us. 1 kilometer from the village where you can find bars, bread, onions...we stayed 2 nights and liked it.
bar, restaurant, diving center (Padi for 28000 MT or numerous dives).
you had to pay the wifi 150 MT per day, only avalaible at the bar.
cash or credit card.
easy and beautiful sandy road crossing the fields, 3 bridges (18t max) and the coconut trees, only at the last kilometer you need a 4x4. nice stop!

It's open. Still in renovation process but coming to an end soon. Campsite full working. Everything run good and clean. Jacques make a good job. There is a lot of space to camp also for big rig. Only the limit of weight is by 3 bridges 18 to. Restaurant is well working. Price is actually 500Mt pppn.

zavora Lodge was closed, but now there are new owners and the place is open! called now Zavora Resort, can be found on facebook

Report Check-In

New owners took over the lodge and they are (partially) open. Camping is available with new abolution blocks. great showers! Construction is ongoing but they expect to finish before Dec 2022. we visited the other lodge close by and decided that is in poor condition.

Report Check-In

This is actually closed and very run down but we had nowhere else to stay as it was getting dark.
The guard told us 1000mets

Report Check-In

Beautifully sited campsites above the beach. The ablution block is out of order but they open up a chalet so you can use the toilet and shower. M500 PPPN, half price for kids. We did some wonderful snorkelling along the reef straight from the beach at low tide. Only niggle is that the water pressure was low initially and then stopped all together. The caretaker explained this was because the tank had sat empty and needed time to refill. So it might have got better if we had stayed for a 2nd night. Also most of the chalets are in a state of ruin with broken rubble lying about. But… I expect these things will get sorted as business picks up, and we felt it was worth it for the great snorkelling.

It's open again! We paid 500MZN ppn which is good value for money as we rarely had a sea view directly from the campsite here in Mozambique. The best spot is definitely Albatroz 1 for sea view + tree shade. But all "Albatroz" pitches are on top of the dune and have a small lapa for shelter. The establishment in a whole looks a bit run down probably from lack of revenue during last couple of years but we had a great time here and the whole staff is really kind and helpful. They opened a nice chalet for us to use bathroom and shower. Great internet signal with Vodacom.

Zavora lodge is closed. The best option is Nhanombe lodge next to it. You will see the sign. We really enjoyed it there

Report Check-In

nice clean camp on the sand, need 4x4 700pp broken electricity, water on some sites. We were there alone no discount I do not recommend

Report Check-In

There is no such extra cheap price for iOverlander! Officially it’s 700MC per Person. Got it down to 500 pp, low season and I was alone on the campsites with seaview.
But, when I stayed longer I got 2 days for free, then the „special“ price works out again.
Good sweat water from borhole. Take toilet paper from reception, there is none in the ablutions.
Good book exchange cupboard at reception.

nice campsite but the ants on the lower campsites (so no lake view) you should not underestimate.

the regular price from 11th January 2019 valid price in the off season is
540 meticals pppn

nice campsite - but the ants on the lower campsites ( so no lake view ) you should not underestimate.
Check the ground well before you park

Next to Zavoro beach camp is Doxa beach Hotel.
Owners managers Gert and his wife was very friendly .
We had a hole in 1 breakfast our 1st since being on the road, bacon, egg, flavoured mince ,fried tomato, 2 slice off toast, Juice ice cold, 2 cups of filter coffee for a record low of MZN 150 each.A swim for 2 hours in the pool
Arrived at Zavaro Lodge, nice lodge with a lot of activities. Problem camping not as on IOverlander.com at M350 PP but at M700 per person.
Spoke to manager Linda explained this is steep and she agreed to charge us at M350 per person.
A beautiful camp with private lapa on each site.
LINDA IS OUR HERO!!!!!
Linda make a descision to charge ioverlander clients MZN350 per person out of season.
Stayed for 3 nights it is worth it. All clean and good.

It wasn’t bad. Paid 1020 for two people for sea view off season rate. Bathrooms were ok. No toilet paper. Waves were crazy and a little scary. Had a beer for 100 and used WiFi for 100. Not the best! But not the worst! Need 4x4 for sea view sites

Report Check-In

Run down site, quite expensive in high season. No hot water, dirty ablutions. A restaurant without atmosphere, all very simple. Not recommended

Report Check-In

Basic campsite, prices went up to 400 MT for the site without the sea view. Hot showers, running water, beer price 90 MT for 550ml, Wi-Fi in the restaurant what you have to pay for, I think it was a 100 MT per day and no downloading, video calls etc. Better buy a local card and at internet what is cheap 250 MT for 2 gb. Card 30 MT. It's a 17 km sandy road to the campsite, doable with 2wd or motorcycles. For diving you need minimum 6 people and there was no one around when we where there.

Report Check-In

Current prices are 360 metical without sea view, 420 with sea view. We stayed at the sea view site which really has a beautiful sunrise view over the ocean as well as a good sea breeze.
They have a dive center and it is an amazing place to dive with Manta rays. One tank dive 1400 metical plus equipment.

Report Check-In
