Firstly the camp site is virtually non existent. It is totally overgrown and the ablutions cease to function. You can camp next to the chalets and use one chalet to shower etc but no hot water and if you are more than two people it’s is simply not ideal. The sand road to the lodge is indeed 4x4 and rather confusing as to where to make the turn from the freeway. If you are desperate for an overnight close Maputo then fine but rather give it a miss if you can.

Place has changed the owner, friendly staff trying to refurbish the place. Basic camping is 250mt pppn, small cottages 3000 Mets and group cottages for 5000 per night. Bar was working when we were there, setting is great on the riverbank. They have kayaks to rent. Simple but good place to stop over before Maputo.

completely run down, no pool and no restaurant anymore, but we were allowed to camp there for a night, there was like a caretaker around. would not recommend this place.

Trust the sign saying "engage 4x4 or reverse"!
Campsite looks a bit neglected. There is braai facilities, water at site but no electricity. Bar/ Restaurant by the river. Nice swimming pool. Price remain 250 metical pppn.
