Good basic hotel, friendly helpful staff, secure parking and security 24 hrs. I paid 14,000 naira.

Nice place as described. If you want food (i.e. spaghetti) it takes two hours.

New and nice place. Very friendly and helpful staff. Can definitely be recommend. We rented one of the two suites for NGN 8000. The owner and the name of the Hotel has recently changed. The new name is Barnsteck Hotel and Resort.

Nice hotel but overland vehicles over 2.5 meters high will not fit into entrance.

Indeed everything is still in good condition in this guesthouse opened on 20 December 2017, although my television had a flickering effect on the left side of the screen which rendered it unwatchable (and so the decay begins:). Very nice staff, great value (5000), and the chicken I had from the restaurant was cooked perfectly. On the minus side, the price for the chicken was double what was written in the menu, and my Coke was also more expensive than in the menu. Also, they have razor wire over the sliding gate, and it rubbed just a bit on my roof tent getting in, so if your car is any taller you might not enjoy that part. Have them lift it if in doubt. Overall a good stay.

Also, call ahead and make sure they have a room: 0803 966 2137. My first trip through Gboko they were full, in which case you can try the Wishden hotel on the other side of town for decent standard rooms.

Brand new, very nice hotel! Opened in december 2017 so everything is nice, finished and clean. Hardly anything broken and no run down stuff in the hotel. Best hotel we had so far for this price in Nigeria. Cold shower, toilet with seat and working flush, places to put your clothes while showering, kingsize bed with good matrass, tv (although you can not choose the canal yourself), AC working from 6.30 till 6.00 in the morning, van and light also working from 6.30 till 6.00. No wifi. Secured parking lot, good restaurant, bar with cold drinks. Good place to relax a little before heading to Abuja. We payed 5000 for a standard room and had a small discount because we stayed 3 nights. You can also choose a suite for 8000 and then you have a jacuzzi in your room!
But like everywere in Nigeria, be clear on the prices on forehand because afterwards they can charge you more! Also with the prices in the restaurant, although the prices are published on the menu. Very, very friendly staff. Our dog was allowed in the room.
Very nice market to visit in the center of the town.
And there is a Total gass station in town were you can buy good diesel.
