pay 10.000kip for your vehicle and you will find a really nice spot, from where you can visit the cave. actually its not allowed to camp there, but if you ask friendly, they let you stay overnight. met some people with a tent who stayed for a couple of days there...
best: you can swim in the river! very cool!
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
We asked if we can camp there in our tent and they wanted to charge us 300.000 because they said someone needs to stay there overnight with us to take care of us.. we then went to Thongdam Guesthouse and camped for 20.000 per person in their garden. We could use the bathroom and had to eat in their restaurant
Report Check-InWhen we entered the park we were asked if we would want to camp. Apparently camping has become official.
Report Check-InWas unable to camp inside the gated park area after talking to staff however just north of town there is a small cemetery on your left (looking north). We managed to camp in the rice field with the farmers permission. In saying this, there were 2 other overlanders in self contained motor homes that camped just outside the gated entrance when we drove through the following day.
