All road tolls in Zimbabwe must now be paid in US dollars if the vehicle has foreign registration. There is no option to pay in any of Zimbabwe's currencies.(Bond, RTGS or Ecocash.) The fee is US$2 for cars, including all vehicles below heavy goods. South African rand are also accepted, but the rate fluctuates. Note that small denominations of US currency ($1 to $50) are hard to find. Toll gates and even supermarkets will usually tell you they have no change. If you get change in local currency, the rate will be terrible, so bring plenty of small denominations currency. Dollars are easier to trade than rand.
