Description

Friendly police offer their garden and facilities to avoid foreigners sleeping at the temples.
at the main entrance to Angkor Wat (about 3km north of town). Safe, level, partly shady, quiet at night, shower/toilet, free. Nice staff, English, French, German spoken.

plenty of space for 3-4 cars. Height limitation of around 3.5m. If you are too tall the police will direct you to the old ticket office car park. Really friendly police officers. They have someone on duty 24/7 so very safe place to camp. Quite close to the road but since the road is used mostly to get to Angkor, it is quiet from 7pm onwards. Free of charge. Cold shower and toilet are free. Bathroom is a little dirty but fine.

Came here but could not enter. Because there was a gate with low height. My van was 3.1m

Very friendly police. As described before, they warmly let us use toilets, shower, water, electricity. Very kind and don’t ask questions. They just ask for a copy of your passport.
You can thank them with beers, they seem to enjoy them :-)

We were too high to get through the tourist police gate. I suspect the gate is about 2.75m. However they let us park in the old ticket booth area just next door. Not the most glamorous or quiet place but ideally located for the temples. Also a toilet in the parking area.

Report Check-In

Friendly police. We parked on a nice shady grassy patch just outside the gate. Stayed four nights, kept awake the first night by ridiculously noisy frogs, slept great the other 3 nights. Shower and toilet just fine, a little dirty but not too bad. Great access to the sites from here.
