50 Balloons going up on this side of Göreme require a lot of space and you may find yourself hemmed in between launch sites. Then there are all the photo shooting teams for wedding and posing pictures, vintage cars, etc.
To actually see the Balloons in the air, camp at an elevated spot or ridge with the sun in your back or left or right of you.
All facilities available in town about 1km away.

Amazing view of the launch around 5am. The way to there is a bit off road climb for the car, quite a lot of rocks and holes around so be sure to get there when there’s sunlight.
Report Check-InBeautifull spot, walk up the hills tot see the sunset. ATV's were all gone by 20:00. Very close tot the town and still on your own.
Report Check-InEpic spot! If you want to sleep in, this is not the place for you. If you want to see balloons launch and land all around you, this is definately the place for you! Camp out of the way of the clear spots as balloons are really everywhere and they need their space. Landing is literally a meter from our car. Spectacular. Balloons start launching from 4am and all are back one the ground again by 8am (in august). Atv tours come by sometimes starting from 10am until past sunset. Nobody bothered us here.
Report Check-InLovely spot overlooking some wonderful rock formations. It can get a little noisy at some times of the day with ATV tours but also is quiet for large parts of the day. Great spot to see the balloons go up. You will be woken at 5am as they launch very close by. No facilities. Free.
Report Check-InReturned to Goreme because balloon flying weather was very bad on the first visit. This time we counted nearly 100 ballooons in the air at once, and they kept launching them for an hour after that.
Three Bikers in tents and us in the motorhome and no problems
Quiet overnight spot, but maybe very hectic in the morning if they launch the balloons from this spot.
Great views and no dogs and very peaceful once the tourists have retreated to the town.
