Spent two nights here. Very quiet, felt safe and basically in front of the beginning of the trails. At the entrance of the Pueblo they charge $2 per person. They tried to charge us $5 and heard the same from other ppl.

Dormimos duas noites muito tranquilas aqui! Nos sentimos super seguros! O Pueblo é uma graça!

We slept two very peaceful nights here! We felt super safe! The Pueblo is cute!

Report Check-In

We spent two nights alone in this parking lot, which was very safe and quiet. We had beautiful days, super open but the wind was absurdly strong, whether day or night.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Quiet calm and safe. Good 4G. Near from hikes

Report Check-In

We sleep here for one night, we feel safe. It’s cold!! We park in front of the artisanal center. Unfortunately we didn’t see the lake 😭 couse are raining and nebulous!!!

Nós paramos bem na frente do centro artesanal. Seguro, faz muito frio!! Usamos o aquecedor. Infelizmente não conseguimos ver o lago, estava chovendo e muita neblina

Report Check-In

Passamos uma noite segura aqui. Não pagamos nada, não tinha ninguém cobrando. Único lado ruim é a altitude, e o frio. Fez -3ºC durante a noite.

Report Check-In

We spend the night at the parking lot. Toilets open during the day until 5:00pm. Free toilet it's located at the Galería de artesanos. Very clean !!!! After sunset the town is super quiet!!! The weather change a lot! Don't check it out with any forecast....it will be different! We did the walk and we have sun, rain and fog all in between 3 HS ! After sunset get's really cold as you can expect at this altitude! Entrance fee was us$2 pp ( you pay only once if you don't go out you don't pay again)

Report Check-In

We parked in the grass lot on the right hand side. You cannot drive beyond this part, you either park in the paved lot on the left or the grass lot on the right... or turn around. Only locals can drive beyond this point. It is a short walk to the crater overlook and access to walking down into the lake. Cell service is slow (claro) but it does exist. No wifi, bathroom, or showers. Several hostels within 2 to 3 minutes where you can take showers. Parking/Camping is free and the townspeople are very kind and welcoming!

Report Check-In

Good place to stay for a couple of nights, very quiet. Flat space for parking, right next to Quilotoa. No WiFi, free bathrooms in the artisan building (you can also go to the nearby restaurants where you can get WiFi and bathrooms)
Recommended to go on a weekday - at the weekends the parking lot is crowded and noisy and the bathrooms are packed.

Report Check-In

Very nice overnight place for All sizes of motorhomes. There are 3 parking lots. Left a big grassy one, right a big with graveled stones and a small (let it for the cars) up on the left side paved.
A lot if toilets for 0,50 cent or if you visit a restaurant.

Entrance fee: $ 5,00 for a motorhome!
and please pay because the locals need the money. And if you come by motorhome you have the money to pay!!!

Report Check-In

We stayed for free. Nowhere a place to pay. Office at the beginning of village was also abandoned. Maybe the because out of season. Very clean parking, safe and very quiet.

Report Check-In

Safe and good place to sleep. You pay the entrance (2 usd but depends the size of your car) lot of restaurants and public bathroom (usd 0.5 pp). its a good idea to sleep here to wait for better weather conditions to see the lagoon. be prepared, its very cold at night.

Report Check-In

$2-5USD depending on the size of your vehicle. We parked in the back and had plenty of privacy. Bathroom next door for .50, otherwise really easy to find one if you walk around the village. A very quick walk to the Mirador and the trailhead to start a short hike down to the laguna. We definitely thought it was worth it for the location! Plenty of places to buy souvenirs and food, and you can also set up cooking equipment in the parking lot later in the day without it being too weird. Recommended! PS, it was pretty cold and windy which made for a nice night in the van with lots of blankets to keep us warm.

Report Check-In

Incredible place! The entry to the little village was 5$ for the camper and that’s all! Everything else is free, unless you do any particular activity (kayak, horse ride, etc.). The village is nice and located right on the rim of the volcano. The view is incredible! Definitely worth coming!

Report Check-In

We think this place is still worth a visit. The Laguna is beautiful, and yes it’s not possible for tourists to go beyond the parking lot with a car, but you are still able to walk. You can do the hike around the lake if you want more nature, or walk down to the lake, where you can kayak. Looks like they are constructing more. We stayed the night in the parking lot, had a hot chocolate at restaurante Quilotoa ($1.50) used their bathroom and WiFi. WiFi still reached our van. They closed at 6pm. The only fee was the $3 at the entrance, I think it’s $2 for small cars, $3 for vans, and $5 for bigger ones. It was pretty cold (1 C) and windy. Quiet and safe. Good for a night or a stop (w/o hike).

Report Check-In

What a disapointment! We were looking for a place in nature and found f@#$ Disney Land. OK, the 3 USD entrance fee are OK, parking included. But what has been a spot in nature is now a village full of construction sites looking like dwarf city. Absolutely not worth a visit. Enjoy the photos from ancient times, this place does not exist anymore. Not possible to drive further than the parking lot, everything is closed.

Report Check-In

No facilities but great location for hiking rim. $5 for our 19ft camper truck. Banos (0.50) at hotel (0600-1900) beside us did not have water. Banos at artesanas shop did not open until 0800 and closed at 1700). Very cold at night.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Very nice place to stay when you want to see the Laguna. Safe and very quiet. We liked it. Recommended. Free.

Report Check-In

‪Can not agree with the comment of the previous reviewer. We stayed at the parking lot (for free!) for one night. It was cold but quiet. We didn’t try to find a way for not paying the entry fee of $3 and we also paid $.5 per toilet use (were happy that we had this possibility and thus could support the locals). The locals were very friendly to us and the lagoon was amazing‬.

Report Check-In

The town has 2 access roads and it looks like they only charge at the first road not at the second 500m further. The village was strange - something between tourism gold rush atmosphere and locals trying to ignore the daily tourist clouds. Every shop/restaurant around tried to charge $0.5 for every non-guest toilet using, someone agreed later $0.25/per use. It was one of the rare places we didn't feel welcomed. We would skip it.
Although the lake view is really beautiful, the crater loop was not really necessary because part of the path condition was bad (steep and loose) and the view both side are more or less identical for 6 hours. Only if you love to have challenge of going up 200m, going down 100m than up 150m than down....

Report Check-In

Legit, as below, showed up at sunset, gate was open no entrance fee, gate was closed when I left the next day (pay?). Used the artisan shop for banos ($.5) and they gave me their pw for wifi. Restaurants close early.

Report Check-In

This is as far as they let non locals drive. We paid $3 for our rig to enter town; It's $2 for cars. Quiet, cold non windy night.

Report Check-In

Rather than stay in the paved carpark, take a right opposite to a big dirt lot - noone around and not so awkward cooking outside here! It's the carpark for pesados (sign currently on the ground).

We have no idea who these super humans are who did the crater loop in 4 hours - it took us over 6 going anticlockwise (with lots of food / photo stops). It was harder than we were expecting, and kind of felt like we were on a treadmill going nowhere and staring at the same thing the whole day 🤣

Report Check-In

Still free to park, we stayed overnight on our roof top tent, no problem! Bathrooms open at 9am and close at 5. No fee to enter village.

Report Check-In

Good for an Night, also for Big Rigs

Report Check-In

parking lot of the lagon. payed 3 dolars to enter. wifi at the restaurant + toalet.
did the tour around quilotoa lake, took us 6.5 hours with 3 kids.

Report Check-In

quiet night at the parking lot. The password for the Wi-Fi is [Password removed by Moderator.]
very nice people around and the hike around the Laguna is beautiful. Took us 4 hours incl. some breaks.

We parked right up top of the dirt pesados parking (to the right of the carparking area) for 2 nights and were not disturbed. We consider ourselves reasonably young (early 30s) and fit, and we found the hike around the lake moderately challenging. We blame the altitude ;) lol. Definately give yourself 4 hours or a bit more to enjoy it.

Report Check-In

What a deception to see this place transform as a Disneyland park! Like a false village. Everything is done for tourists... didn't really like. Full of people, but it was public holiday. Entrance 2$ pp. Free access to the toilet.

Report Check-In

Free overnight parking at the parking lot without any facilities. Toilets are available only in the daytime although we were told otherwise when we asked at the gate. They sent us to the parking lot for heavy vehicles (pesados) where it was very quiet and not so windy at night. 2 USD entrance fee to the village. Hiking the Quilotoa loop was great! A tough hike even for young and fit hobby trekkers like us but well worth the effort, the views to both sides of the ridge are amazing! Took us a bit less than 4 hours.

Report Check-In

2 dólares entrance, have a bathroom facilities. Have a lot of hostels and restaurants, may you can get a wi-fi password of one of them.

Report Check-In

Free and safe. Toilettes clases around 6.30pm and opened by 8.30am.

Report Check-In

Very windy but we were the only ones parks overnight. Toilets close @5.30pm and open @8.30am.

Report Check-In

Windy and freezing cold at night, $2 entry fee only. Parking lot boondocking.

Report Check-In

We stayed here 2 nights, very quiet place, all tourists leave at 4pm so town is slightly dead in the evening. Free toilets at the artisan market (open from 8am to 4pm). Wifi in the small shop/cafe next to the parking lot. Free to camp, only 2$ fee pp to enter the village. For the hike we did the loop + the descend. Loop took us 4 hours, very windy! Descend is 30 mins down and 1 back up. You cal rent a kayak for 3$ pp.

Report Check-In

The lake is so beautiful, we had a very quiet night and very friendly locals. We parked just opposite the parking lot where it was sheltered by trees so we didn't feel the wind.

Report Check-In

Venta pra caraaalho!!! Very cold and a strong wind. The lake is beautiful. A good place to visit.

Report Check-In

You will pay USD 2,00 pp for the visiting and can stay overnight in the parking lot for frete. We found very safe and quiet. A lot of wind at night. Facilities in the Centro de Artesania next to the parking lot. Clean bathroom, no shower, no Wi-Fi. Reccomend a lot to stay at least onde day and do the traking into the lagoon.

Report Check-In

We arrived late in the dark, because the gas station at Zumbahua was closed so we couldn't stay there. At the village itself we didn't find comfortable enough to stay, so we decided to drive to the lagoon. Just when we arrived in Quilotoa a lady asked for 4 USD to keep an eye on us during the night. Quiet night. By the way the lagoon is really beautiful, worth a visit. The road to Quilotoa is very well-paved.

Report Check-In

Great parking. Quiet. 2 dolars per person. Amazing view.

Report Check-In

We asked the parking attendant if we could park across from the main lot in a little protected grass lot surrounded by trees to protect from the wind, he pointed me to the owner of the lot who was happy to let us stay free of charge.
