Something not right?

Description

Huge, relaxed area in the middle of the town. Bungalows and camping spots under trees and on green grass. 15 15-minute walking distance to the falls (you can hear them at night). Free electricity at sites, good ablutions and nice pool. Free Wifi, but slow. Laundry is $5 USD per (small) bag. Don't miss the excellent "In Da Belly Restaurant" at the Pool. They serve excellent meals at reasonable prices (try the crumbed Warthog Schnitzel with Garlic Sauce, Chips and Salad at 12 USD for example). The only downside is the constant helicopter noise above town (although this applies to the whole area). They wanted $10 USD pppn plus $7 USD for the car per night but we negotiated and then they skipped the Car Fee (so it was only 10 USD pppn). No charge for motorcycle.

Latest Check-Ins

This is one of the most run down campsites I’ve ever been to. No toilet paper, no hot water, drains blocked, toilets not lockable truly hopeless. Electricity worked. We paid 50 USD for 2 people for 2 nights. Location is good walking distance to all restaurants and attractions. This seriously needs a new management!

Report Check-In

actually the cars cost 10 us$ they offer campsites away from centre

Report Check-In

Large camping area under big trees, mostly bare earth. $10pppn plus $5 per vehicle. ablution block was ok. loud music from a club next door till 2am but it was quite mellow so we slept anyway.

Report Check-In

huge campsite. 100+ places.. 40+
houses..
we were the only campers.
t plumbing was functioning, was complete but old and not so well cleaned.
reception very friendly.. restaurant is functioning but was empty.
We were the only two guests...
At 6 o'clock in the morning a group of baboons came and knocked over and looted all the garbage cans (they had no lids).
The receptionist chased them with a slingshot

Ablutions are run down, monkeys are a pest, staff very friendly and helpful. Sites are large shady with power . Local bars are noisy until 02:00 - Costa’s pool Restuarant on camp has very good food at reasonable price , the train passing every few hours is very noisy accompanied with hooting!
It’s a easy walk to the falls.
Usd 10ppn and usd 5ppn for car

Not a good place right now. there are better places in town. definitely the new owners do not have the ability to keep the place up to what it used to be. the lawns are neglected and the basins etc are not cleaned in weeks. we paid 10 US pppn plus 5 US pd for our car.we paid for 5 nights but not going to stay longer. however.. we are loosing our money for 3 nights and going to N1 rather. cheaper and clean.

Report Check-In

Still open. $10 per person plus $7 per vehicle. There were rumours in 2019 that VFRC would be redeveloped into a resort. The plans have thankfully been put off. The site has existed pretty much as it still is for decades and as such is almost historic.
Currently there are almost no visitors in VF - very little noise from the helicopters, few hawkers.
The on-site restaurant (In-da-belly) is closed for refurbishment, several restaurants in town are closed too.
The welcome is second to none.
Some overland busses were parked up here in 2020 and are still here - quite evocative of the times.

Report Check-In

10 USD pppn, and no charge for the motorcycle.

Clean swimming pool and friendly staff.

Beware of monkeys. They are known to break into tents to steal food.

Slow wifi and network is overloaded. Regular power cuts means the WiFi goes off. Towards Eastern fence by the road you can pickup the ZolSpot open network, which gives 1 hour each day of free and fast internet.

Report Check-In

The restaurant has really good food and affordable prices!

Report Check-In

We stayed here for our 2nd night in Vic Falls (the first night we were at N1 which is also nice). The highlights at this camp were the bar/restaurant/pool area and all the shade. I didn‘t find it to be as clean as it could be considering the number of staff members (walking around with sling-shots to try to get rid of the monkeys). There also isn‘t great grass coverage so there is quite a bit of mud when it rains. The camp was loud at night due to a nearby bar (it was also loud at N1). But, the pool and bar are really nice. WiFi is only at the restaurant and is way too slow.

Report Check-In

All still the same! Payd 10$ppn and after neg. 7$for the car but only for the first night, we stayed three!
Very quiet at the moment! Ablutions very clean, Nice pool, good restaurant and easy 15min. walk to the Falls.

Report Check-In

$10pppn plus $7 vehicle.
Horrendously noisy generator going due to a power cut. Apparently this happens most Thursdays.....
Once the power came back after a few hours the place was peaceful apart from the helicopters and trains!
Elephants pass outside the fence sometimes at night - just listen for crashing noises!
Baboons and vervet monkeys on the campsite can be annoying, but the large troop of mongoose are amusing.

Report Check-In

Large open campsite with plenty of shade and ablutions. Individual pitches are not really defined so I can’t say there’s a braai stand per pitch, but there are some around, as well as communal bins, picnic tables and taps with potable water. Ablutions generally clean and well maintained. Really good hot showers. Nice pool, bar and restaurant on site. Laundry service US$5 per bag. Securely fenced but within walking distance of shops, cafes, tour companies, etc, and the Falls. Despite that we still had a herd of elephants feeding just 1m or so outside the fence! Free WiFi in the bar, although can get very slow when lots of people are using it!
US$10 pppn + $7 for the vehicle, although we negotiated to $5 for the vehicle - he indicated there would be a greater discount if we stayed more than 5 days.

Green shady Camping with lots of trees, most sites have access to electricity Plugs.

As we left our car in Katima Mulilo in Namibia we stayed here for a night. It is indeed close to town but we felt overpriced as well(a private room for two with shared ablutions for $46,- ) for what you get.

When used to campingsites in Namibia, we felt both the sites we stayed at in Victoria Falls were overpriced.
So we agree with below comments: that this is probably your best bet.

WIFI is USD 5,- for 1GB, hot showers.

Report Check-In

As per other entries. We paid 10$ pppn. A more natural feel to it than N1 hotel.

Report Check-In

location really good - spacious and quiet - family orientated - good abolitions. where things often over priced this is good value for vic falls & they open to negotiation

Report Check-In

price 10$ pp. Car free if you don't use electricity. some trucks but it is really large place. Walk distance to the town and falls. Good place.

Report Check-In

Large campsite in middle of town, handy for shops and a short walk to the Falls, $10 pppn, no charge for vehicle unless you use the electric, no firewood available on site but braai areas around, nice ablutions with hot water, good wifi $5 for 1GB. Can be a little noisy, quite when we were there but looks like lots over overland tours use this site, helpful and friendly staff

Report Check-In

Checked in today without bargain the price was usd 10,- pp pn without power. Good campsite clean ablution very large so we had a quit spot. Don't forget mosquito spray.

Report Check-In

Large grass terrain with trees in walking distance from falls. Not particularly bad, but nothing to justify the exorbitant price. many overland truck groups.
USD 41 (2 adults, camper). Altitude 912 m.

Report Check-In

Huge campsite in the centre of town. Crowded, very noisy and expensive but your best bet when you want to stay close to town. From here you can walk to the Falls. Price for camping 35 USD per night for 2 persons and a car (we had to bargain for this price).

Report Check-In

safe and secure. Has seen better days, but has good ablutions, pool, bar. ($32 per night)

Report Check-In

Clean, swimming pool but there are overland trucks but there is loads of space. Pricey!!!
