Nos quedamos una noche en este parking, muy amplio y plano. Las termas están Justo a bajo, hay que pagar la entrada (2$) en un almacén al lado. La wifi no funciona pero habían baños abiertos incluso en la noche.

Report Check-In

Good parking to visit the termales. Lot is flat, but not as quiet with road traffic as one might expect. Free, no cell service, WiFi is broken and no one seems to know if it will work again.

Report Check-In

Good level parking; stayed here for a night ; quiet and felt safe. Went to the thermal pool .. currently 2 usd per person ; parking free

Really quiet place, was our first stop in Ecuador, we spend here 2 night, is safe, and you can connect to WiFi (slow, just for WhatsApp), the router is in the roof of the market, we were parked in front of the restaurant.
Note: You Can take a menu (launch) in the restaurant for 3.25 USD.

I recommend this place.

Excellent spot, don't miss it. For small Rigs, there are bathrooms and water - though the water looked brownish when we visited. There is also a restaurant nearby. This place is easy to access for all sizes of rigs IF you take the paved road 4km NORTH of La Paz. This road is signed as Via de la gretta La Paz. We are 7.25m long and had no problems on this paved road.

Report Check-In

Very nice place to spend the night. But be aware: A little bit difficult to reach with bigger rigs (ours is 7m long, 2,5 wide and 3,20 high) . There are buses going to the place, but smaller ones due to a small tunnel and some rocks hanging over the road. The road has plaster, also some potholes (if you manage to take the better access road). The atmosphere there was great, a very calm place. We came there on a sunday when it was pretty crowded and on monday there was no traffic at all. Good wifi, even uploaded a youtube video in the night.

free wifi too, was good enough for some netflix'n chill ;-)
pools further down were great, entrance still 2usd pp, parking is free

Excellent place to stay overnight. huge parking.
beautiful envirormente
2 Usd per person if you want to go to the thermal water, otherwise all is free !!

Great camp spot couldn't ask for more. Disclaimer: the road north of la paz is paved almost the whole way, turn at the alpina factory.
We arrived after dark asked if we could camp at the tienda, no prob, free. We camped next to the toilets which had a sink deep enough for dishes. The gruta was lit and empty although the pool was closed.
next morning woke to a stunning view of the whole valley and went down for a swim.... unfortunately they were draining and cleaning the pool so we just showered with the thermal water. Went up to the tienda to pay $2per adult, $1.50 per child. Really a great camp.

Loved this place! Including the cobblestone and breathtaking drive in from town of la Paz. Definitely worth it. Price for thermal pools is $2 per adult now, but only if the guy collecting happens to be around. Otherwise completely free and quiet, perhaps by virtue of being next to the convent on the hill. See the cave, hike to the Virgo Mary statue on the hill, enjoy unlimited hot water shower next to the first small thermal pools (small pool is hotter than the larger pool). Kids loved the playground here too and if there was a grocery store closer (there is a restaurant and tienda across the street) and electricity we would have stayed much longer. People friendly, great intro to Ecuador!

What a perfect place to stay after crossing from Colombia. NOTE: DON’T take the road google maps recommends. Stay on the highway and look for the road on iOverlander labeled Via a Ruta de la Paz - this road is paved nearly the entire way. We spent an hour taking the dirt road that were pretty sure leads to anywhere but here.

We arrived close to 6pm so the hot springs were closed. We waited u til Saturday morning to enjoy the main hot spring below the parking lot- there are other pools - not sure if they cost additional or not. The closest pool is $2/person and hey have great hot showers coming right out of the mountain. Well worth the $2 for a bath and shower.

We filled up with water from the sink at the bathrooms for no charge and camping was free. No one talked to us and we didn’t need permission. We felt safe and recommend this after the longest border crossing day ever.

awesome spot for a 1st night. google took us down the wrong road to get there and so we ended up at a dead end. a local lady jumped in and showed us the way back to an intersection with a very muddy track. leaving via la paz was a super easy road and non 4wd could do that.

the parking was nice.
hot showers near the riverside hot spring tub. (there’s a larger pool too down the river a bit)
potable water spigots
wifi was very bad (on and off) and no cell reception.

super quiet and peaceful spot for a night. RECOMMENDED.

we paid $5 for 2 adults and 2 kids to park overnight and use pools/showers.

Report Check-In

Parking lot by restaurant, church and caves entrance. We found 3 free wifi signals. Quiet, clean. Playground for kids right by lot. Recommended.

Report Check-In

Roads: from the north is good pavement all the way. south from la paz is steep cobbles. as a bike tourer I walked the first 2K leaving the grutas.

Experience: "hot springs" just means a little concrete bath with a pipe sticking into it. 3/10. Scale of the cave is 6/10 but it all feels very manufactured. I spent half an hour here then moved on. This would be a good place to bring young kids for a few hours but that's it I think.

Report Check-In

What a beautiful experience! Plenty of parking at the top of the caves. Bathroom and water available. Free. Walk down to the caves to see an amazing sight. Free termales (hot spring) as well and hot showers. Noticed a comment that it said not for families. We travelled the road in our truck camper and three kids. So glad we came here, would not want to miss this. Recommend it to everyone.4wd not required.

Great first stop in Ecuador after border crossing. Great views of the valley and very quiet at night, we were the only ones in the parking lot. There is a spigot where you can fill up water if needed (you just need a hose) bathrooms are basic, but clean. walk down to the cave it's very pretty, and then walk to the other side where the river goes through the view is special. --- the 7km to get here are good, no need of 4x4 it can get pretty narrow at some points where 2 cars cannot get through but we were fine in our truck camper

Report Check-In

7km is for exyreme people... not for a family. The place is very nice.

Report Check-In

Great and quiet overnight place. Wifi is very sloooooow.

Report Check-In

This is a really Good Spot for the Night. Quiet and 3 wifi Networks to choose from. A Little exposed but there is no traffic and a Police Station across the Plaza. The road here is a cobblestone road for 7 km and on the Edge of a Canyon. Narrow and steep but okay to Drive. No 4x4 required. Bathrooms Open over night. 2462 m altitude.
