Description

Great hotel, in a great location just by the castle. The owner is incredibly welcoming and will organise anything you need. Great food too! Slightly pricey at 45USD per night.

Great service - price consistent with other travellers ($45). Yes, it’s expensive but there is a huge number of over priced rubbish hotels in Gonder, so if you’re looking for a hotel this is a good middle ground. Excellent location and good atmosphere in bar. Pizza wasn’t great so would suggest popping to 4 sisters round the corner instead! Hot shower!

We had a lovely time here. The rooms were clean, breakfast was tasty and the showers were hot. There is also a restaurant on site which has very good food and cold local beers.

Another major plus was their secure parking which had a gaurd at all times and had a gate which closed and was locked at night.

When we arrived we needed to do a bit of a sort and clean of our car and the owner's son was so helpful and welcoming. He helped us find a good garage to change our oil and at night showed us where we could plug in our car 5o charge our batteries.

Rooms were $45 a night and included breakfast.

It's actually a really nice place. Rooms are fine, food is delicious and has a fully equipped bar. Going out I suggest you try Nirvana. Although it's apparently on top of a 'house of ill repute' it's the best disco in town

We camped there during Timkat, when room and camping was difficult to find. It was a great place to see the locals celebrate. Camping in the parking area, next to the restaurant, so can be noisy. Common toilets were regularly cleaned and we could use a room for hot showers. The manager was super friendly and the staff was very helpful, too. We paid 300 birr per night (2 people and a car). Wifi is as slow as everywhere in Ethiopia.

Nice and very clean lodge directly at the wall of the palace. Friendly and competent manager. Overlander are very welcome. Instead of sleeping in the car he offered us a comfortable room with a clean bathroom, hot shower and including breakfast for a fair price.
