This place looks like a very neclected braai place. Most of the place looks overgrown by the high grass. The ablution is better not to mention ...
The worst are the flies......in the ears, in the eyes....
We left...too many.
For trucks there no many alternative since everything apart from the gravel road it is very narrow to drive (actually a day visit is enough for the park!).
Info: The campsite Arboretum in the NW of the park is now private.
We ended up at the Sandy Spruit campsite near the main gate which was indeed a positive surprise.

Grass high everywhere
Just 3 places with a “entrance” grass cutted
Better no enter the toilets
Showers with hot water!!! But to arrive them lot of grass.
Rubbish everywhere, it was easter!
Really run down but still a nice place to camp if you are autosuficient.
No staff around, some local celebreting easter!
Water in taps if you need to fill your tank, good pressure!
Nice hike to Pomongwe, but it is 5$ pp, we told the ranger about the grass and litter everywhere and let us go for free.

Report Check-In

Still an okay campsite, grass partially high. We were alone, no staff either. Ablutions basic but functioning and not too dirty. Shower block in good shape and with hot water (solar). Most sites only have Braai block. We stayed near the ablutions and taps had water.

Report Check-In

Grassy area with good shade where you can camp. We were the only ones on the campground. No electricity but we had running water and hot showers. Showeringbloc is looked ok and clean. Toilets and cleaningarea could use an update.
We could really recommend the hike up the Pomongwe Summit for sunset!

Report Check-In

The campsite was completely broken and filthy with no facilities at all.
Do not even attempt to stay here if you are fully self sufficient it is disgusting.

Report Check-In

Good for one night, pitches have brai pits but not much else. No water (even for flush), no power (source of lack of water maybe?), no other people around including staff.

The water level of the dam is very low, not many animals around but some dik diks. View is not spectacular. Cows with bells came grazing in the night. Campsite has some small caves which could be fun for a campfire but the strewn beer cans/bottles/trash ruin the feeling.

Access to the west side of the park involves crossing the dam but our big rig could not fit after a few hundred metres (low branches).

Park entrance 8 USD pp, camping 10 USD pp, truck 30 USD (car is only 10) totaling 66 USD for 2 people in truck. Cecil Rhodes' grave is an extra 10 USD pp including access to various caves (keep your receipt).

Maleme dam is a beautiful place to visit, the dam is however very low at the moment which makes it easy to spot the crocs. when you arrive at the park ask the ranger at the front entrance about the rhino walk. it truly is an amazing experience getting so close to them.

Report Check-In

Very quiet, just some cows and baboons and me, no staff or wood but enough around, try climbing up the rocks for the sunset! Overpriced etc etc but what a beautiful place this is.

Report Check-In

The toilets and showers have been renovated and improved. Really hot solar showers (at far end of camp), flushing toilets and all very clean. Each site now USD27 per site per night but for up to 6 people. Cooking and kitchen area and clothes line. Plenty of braai and seating areas and also spaces without. Very quiet when we were there - no village/noises. There is electric power lines at major buildings but not to sites and in any case there was no power when we were there (disconnected). Monkeys and baboons come down from rocks. No firewood offered but we found our own. Lodges are available nearby.

nice campsite, we were the only ones. hot showers, ok ablutions. crowded on weekends with locals hangong out, watch out the baboons!
